What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

Thanks fellas.. The PMs and pics from Wayne and ChiPhi (Phillip) pushed me over the edge on the lip. Very happy with it.

I'm glad you are pleased with it Ian. It makes a huge difference and your wheels are fantastic on your ride.

Now you need to mod your Avatar :wink (2):

Took the FX to a small Infiniti dealership not considered one of the big ones near where I live and they told me that that were going to cover the heated seat switches under warranty while the bigger name Infiniti dealership said that it would not be covered under warranty. That's why I tend to go to this dealership more often when I need some work done bc they are cheaper and seem to work with the customers better.

Got the aero Lip installed, Its def a must have and pics do no justice. Seeing it up close and personal looks amazing

Last week, a truck zoomed past me, drove over plywood and the plywood hit my grille on the highway.
I was going 70 and the plywood broke upon my grille. From then on, I thought my FX was the shit. Tough and could withstand ANYthing. I felt like a boss.

That all changed when I arrived on campus.. my grille was cracked and I was very upset.

Btw, that pic was taken today after I bashed the right piece of the crack into place. It was worse than that before.
So today I took my grille out and tried to straighten it the best I could lol it's still somewhat noticeable:

That's part one of my day.
Part two consist of me fixing my CD player.
About 4-5 years ago, a bit over a year after we bought the FX, the CD player wouldn't eject nor accept any discs.. it seemed like it was jammed.
I had a 10 year warranty, so I assumed that if I took it to the dealer, they would fix or replace the unit.
Incorrect, they said I had to buy a whole new system.. which made no sense, don't you agree?
So this week, I randomly tried to eject or insert a new disc and the CD door wouldn't open.. so I took the risk of opening the radio bezel to see what the problem was.
The problem was that the lever on the bezel wasn't being pushed in ENOUGH by some mechanical rod that normally pushes it all the way.
In fact, I found that pushing the radio bezel in really hard, while eject or inserting the disk would only open the CD half way.
So what did I do..?
I cut a piece of my old Aeropostale sandal (old favorite :( ). I cut a .5 cm by .5 cm square. It was about.. a little above 1 cm. deep?
Dabbed it in hot glue and placed it on the mechanical rod inside the CD player that pushes the lever on the inside of the radio bezel.

WALA! It works 100% now!!!
Here's the pic of the white sandal piece on the rod that gives it that extra push:

I just saved myself about $2,000 according to Infinitipartsusa.com.. don't know if that's right lol, but if it is. WINNING.
Oh and here's the phone I won two weeks ago during my good luck spree.
Android FTW:

Welcome to the Stillen Dual Club! I've had mine for close to 2 years. Great exhaust.

Awesome! I'm leaning towards Stillen because I love the sound. But I have a hard time dealing with the surface rust issue. Hopefully, Zebra's method will be durable!
