Lunch break. I finally got out at a little after 9am and have been working non stop. Just over 4hrs in and I have both cats, both heat shields, the intake, PS fluid reservoir, and the passenger side OEM ex manifold removed. AND so far i haven't had to drain the coolant. The good news is that supposedly that's the hard side. The bad news is that the install is apparently where it really gets difficult.

No way its going to be done today.

What did I do??
Well, today I finally uploaded a shot of my 08!! Took me far too long! Wasn't too happy with the photoshoot...so I only put the one for now but more sometime soon!!
Enjoy! (even though it looks just like so many other Graphite FX's - I'm diggin it!)

Nice! We're twins!

from what I remember of installing my stillen headers the drivers side oe manifold comes out easier than the new header goes in. the easiest way I found was to remove the 2 main rack&pinion mounting bolts & move that a bit. don't have to disconnect the actual steering coupler though I think

Well, I ran out of light but the headers are in and all the bolts (save one) are threaded. I was super worried about fitting the Stillens in without draining the coolant but they both slid right in from the bottom no problem. I did remove the steering shaft from the rack knuckle but I'm not sure it was necessary. I'll make a DIY after I torque everything down tomorrow. Until then, here's what spanking new headers look like in a filthy engine bay... :p

Nice work on the headers Tim. Big PROPS to you. :top:
I remember installing headers on my 340 Duster years ago in my driveway and that was a chore, but heck I would be afraid to tackle that on the FX with the restricted space in the engine bay :eek.:

Thanks, G. It was both harder and easier than I expected. "A chore" is actually a perfect description. Not complicated, just awkward and incredibly time consuming. Hopefully it will be worthwhile!
