What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

Just washed her and stared at her for about an hour because I cant drive her yet.. :bur2:

Finally got out to work on the fx for a couple hours today. I installed my Fluidampr crank pulley, one of the "lightweight" UR accessory pulleys, all four sway bar bushings, sort of fixed my busted up splash pan, and repaired a broken spade end on my grounding kit. I planned on doing the shift kit today but as it turns out I only bought 6 quarts of trans fluid instead of the requisite 8 for the job. *sigh* Oh well, maybe next week...

Never enough hours Man...Any feedback on the pulley?

I'm going to give it another day or two of testing before I give my impressions. I did weigh the old and new parts during the install though, and was rather surprised at the results...

Oem crank pulley. - 6.1lbs
Fluidampr CP. - 10.2lbs
Oem H20 pump pulley - 0.6lbs
UR H20 pump pulley. - 0.6lbs

The weight difference between the fluidampr and oem CP was expected and is definitely noticeable while driving, but the fact that the $80 "lightweight" UR water pump pulley (the larger of the two UR "lightweight" acc pullies) was within 1/10th of a pound of the oem unit was disappointing. I didn't have the right size socket (20mm) for the alt pulley so that one will have to wait. I'm not very hopeful though considering the relative weight difference (or lack thereof) of the larger one...

The oem crank pulley is 6.1lbs and both alternator pullies are 0.6lbs. In the interest of full disclosure I should say that I weighed both with the Fluidampr on the scale (because my scale won't register less than 5lbs). Both alt pullies brought the total from 10.2 to 10.8lbs. The combined weight of the oem and new crank pullies (16.3lbs) confirmed their individual weights and subsequently, the accuracy of the scale.

Oh I completely misunderstood. I didn't realize the .6 were both the oem and lightweight, or not for that matter, water pulleys. That's kind of a shame then. Will you weigh the alternator also?

Seems like Chicago has the mod bug and it's exponentially spreading...

I cleaned and conditioned my leather and plastic interior.

Thinking of getting 80% window tint for the front and windshield. Illegal since 20% is OEM rear, we can't have any tint in the front in IL.

But after getting 50% front, 35% rear, you can't tell that much at all of 50% front. Still pondering if it would grab attention or not.

I really like the fact that 80% tint gives me 50% heat block, 99% UV protection (even though OEM glass has UV protection) and glare reduction.
