What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

Had some extra time, so I modified a picture of my FX:

Also made the image for next month's Rides of the Month, but noticed the thread is locked so I couldn't post it. Oh well, I'll post it here. Hopefully the admins see it for a potential candidate for a future month.

Attempted to replace the glovebox lightbulb with an LED for the SECOND time and am still not getting the right bulb.

1st try was with a Neo-Wedge type (as recommended in another thread) NO GO
2nd try was with a #24 type (as I had taken measurements and matched them to what I found on autolumination.com) NO GO
3rd try will be with a #74 type which I'm sure will fit (Ordered 4 different LED configurations to see which one lights up the best)

Will report back.

Drove to the mall and saw this. I wanted to get another shot but the owner was walking up.

..so, the week before Christmas, if you guys can recall, I mentioned that I had jump started my FX... drove around the block (but it was a BIG block), pulled it back in the garage, stopped the engine and tried restarting it again, but it wouldn't... and tchuck had suggested to drive it for at least 30 minutes... Anyways, I finally got around to jump starting it again... took it out for a drive, but I grabbed my camera gear too, because I desperately need new pics of my FX.... so found a spot at an industrial area, kept it running because I didn't know what was going to happen after I stop the engine...








The sun was going down (which actually is the BEST time of the day for pics), so I took what pics I could and drove home.... but when I stopped the engine after I pulled it in the garage, it wouldn't start again... so I guess the battery's "toast'd" (to quote tchuck) :embarrassed:

tell me about it... my DD/Acura TL-S sat outside the same amount of time, had to be jump started too, but after I jump started it... it's been driving fine :dontknow:

Great shots! How did you take the first one? Almost looks like a fish eye lens, is that what you used or put it through some filter? If not, not sure how you took that shot?

thanks... I used a 17-35mm zoom... it was at 17mm, but keep in mind it's a full frame body... so it's true 17mm

No idea what you just said. I know what zoom is and that's about it.

One of these days I plan on asking a friend who takes great shots to take pictures of my car...some of his shots are amazing like yours.

yeah, ask him to explain to you about crop sensor bodies vs Full Frame... or you can just Google it.
 
Replaced the in-cabin micro grape filter, replaced all 3 wipers with OEM wipers, replaced both engine filters, and cleaned off both seat filters (they were very clean from the beginning so I didn't replace them). They basically looked knew so I'm guessing the dealer in October had replaced them probably is my guess. Thank you Aaron for the DYI guides! They were very helpful! Thanks Thanks Thanks! :tup:
 
well, just booked an appointment for my FX to go to service.....hahahah.
BTW someone broke my window and stole wallet last week in toronto...i guess i had bad luck....it was right before chinese lunar year....anyway, Happy Chinese New Year to everyone!
