What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

Its actually not much of a difference. Either way its better than rolling on the stock 18"

Installed HID 5000K Fog Lights. Removed belly pan then took out 4 clips and about 8 screws off the bottom of the bumper and just reached in and popped the fog lights out. To me it was easier to do it this way then have to remove the fender trim.

Replaced Stillen Z-tube with LMS Z-tube, which I was told was originally Soonsters. Also added a throttle body spacer. Purchased from someone on the org. Pretty happy with both so far.

Stillen Z-tube will be for sale shortly if anyone is interested.

atsappin- I'm interested in getting the 5000 HID fogs....do they match the HID headlights almost perfect? I know the headlights are 4300 but I want the fogs to match up as close to possible and be bright white.

Also, where did you get your bulbs?

Drove to Half Moon Bay for a couple hours.

jdTrader: As of right now they are almost a perfect match. They don't have the blue tint once they warm up so it looks stock. I would get 5000K if u want the stock look and yes they are bright white. I bought my set off DDMtuning.com. Fair price and good product. Once you get them go from underneath the front bumper to install. Pretty easy install once you take the belly pan off and a few screws.

What the FX did for me, Went to Home depot loaded up a full size jack hammer went to my remodel busted up a bunch of concrete dropped it back off and made it back in record time. FX's kick ass.....

TB spacer will throw off the air/fuel. Tune highly recommended

Thanks for the tip. A tune is coming very soon. Not going to be adding any more bolts on mods at this point, so this is pretty much the last on my list. I barely drive this thing anymore so it's not a huge issue, but I will definitely be sending it in soon. I wish there was a good place here where I could get a dyno tune

It will make you run lean. I was surprised myself.
On the Dyno, a Wynflow, which reads low, we saw a 5-7hp diff. to the wheels with that mod. Lotta skeptics, but I saw it in B&W. we did 3 runs w/ the same consistent gain.
Mod was in combination w/ plenum spacer & CAI, but we isolated the gain for just that mod. even made Tadashi over at TS a believer.
I kept mine on cuz my tune considers it.

I don't see why anyone would doubt it. It basically does the same thing as a plenum spacer, which is to increase plenum volume. The only possible downside I can imagine would be related to moving the TB further away from the injectors, but obviously that's insignificant... Just out of curiosity, where in the rpm range was the 7hp gain? Did you notice a difference in throttle response?

People at large still doubt it's worth its Weight.

Creates a running lean condition btwn 4500 & 5500 rpm (we fixed that)
HP gain was in two spots. 5K to 5.5K, & 6K to 7K
TRQ in the same range.
I cant really say I noticed a difference just from the just the TBS, cuz I had a tune that included all the bolt ons working together, but the numbers dont lie, & every little counts for some. The tune was felt on all levels though & really brought everything together. My ping'ng went away w/ our shitty Cali gas, & the engine became noticably smoother.

I also makes a cool whistle sound when you gas it. It's not obtrusive though. Very faint, but you can deffntly hear it. I totally dig it

This is a before/aft with a tune. All breather mods together. I cant seem to locate the TBS dyno sheet, but I wrote those numbers down when we did the runs.
Just looking at the sheet I smirk. My motor will happily do 8K when tested. I dont push her that hard, but it will go that high . . never give the keys to valet, lol
