What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

If its the 2010 x6 then its bye-bye for the fx (as long as its the 4.4 V8). Or it will be a 2009 M6 V10 which is the one I am pushing for. Either way its going to be a white one (WTF).
The boss is still sleeping from a 12 hr shift and Ive been dressed since 8am waiting. :mad.:

Get the m6

uh oh, someone pull up logan's (or was it tchuck's) quote on the x6!

hehe jkjk. gl with whatever you end up getting buddy! :)

"You can make an FX faster, (FI) and handle better (coilovers and braces), but you can't make an X5 less ugly or less expensive to maintain." Something like that.

Installed my Silver Bullet radar detector. I had to wire it up through the roof and down to the fuse box since I couldn't wire it straight into the rear view mirror. IMG00358-20101109-2132.jpg

Thats actually a really good idea. I might work on that this weekend. I'll post some pics when i get it done since everyone loves pics. I also should be installing the HID 5000K fog lights this weekend.

Installed my new GT-SPEC strut tower brace. Wow! I was expecting a slightly noticeable reduction in body roll but it is in fact VERY noticeable. I was also a little worried about the added bracing making the ride worse due to the terrible roads here in Portland, an unfortunate environmental trait that is only magnified by my 20" wheels and sport springs. I don't mind the "harsh" ride ("harsh" relative to my A4 with 18" wheels and OEM springs...) but I certainly wouldn't want to make it any worse. Well, much to my pleasant surprise it seems that in stiffening up the front end, the suspension is forced to work a little harder. Now it seems that a good amount of the vibrations and bumps that used to transfer to the drivers seat via chassis flex are instead being absorbed by the front suspension. The feeling is less "side-to-side" bounce than before and an overall smoother ride. I also was pleasantly surprised that the "GT-SPEC blue" color is a lot less blue than it appears in pictures and has a sort of iridescent quality that I really like. Those combined with the fact that the whole thing weighs right at 5lbs, make me a very satisfied customer.

Here's a quick cell phone shot of the new engine bay. Anyone think I should clean it?:laugh:

yep. gives it more of a LUX feel. Stiffen up the chassis = better handling dynamics.
Now you need to get all the bracing. You'll be happy w/ every brace that goes on, & then say goodbye to understeer.
