What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

a day ago my oil cap came loose and fell off.. spewing all of my oil out on top of the world in laguna beach. >.< 30 mile tow home [AAA plus ftw] now i just completed changing my filter and putting more oil. woo!

just 2 coats of VHT n 3 coats of Krylon Clear, right now tails look tooooooooo dark. Checked the light output, looks OK on a bright day, hopefully it will be fine at night.

but the problem is the finish is not very good, after clear coating, i did light wet sanding and then used some rubbing compound but the end result is a dull finish. Any idea how i could bring the shine back on?

I hate shops like that, they obviously dont know what they are doing.

what is the area code there? maybe we can call them and also complain to the BBB.

It's 803. seriously can we do that? complain about the business to BBB?? Nice...

I never install an exhaust system before, don't know anything about exhaust part and Gordon told me installation cost it's about $60-80, so I go with that number, and I ask them how much to install this system, they said its gonna run about $120, WHAT?? and I told them it is a perfect fit for the car, you guys just need to take out the old and bolted the new one, and he said "oh,there is nothing such as perfect fit.. I DO THIS KIND OF THING A LOT... I was like damn it man... and then they like pretending to be confused with the installation, he said.. "oh this is a piece of junk of what I can tell you.. and nothing is right fit.. after that the other guys drop my tip and scratched it... damn man.. really upset but you're absolutely right, they don't know what they are doing..

Check out the detailing threads on wetsanding. You just need to keep going - only half way finished.

Oil change with M1 5w-30 and another K&N HP-1010 filter. The nut on top makes it easy to remove, but I accidentally tightened it at first so it took longer. Not the easiest location to fit a wrench either. Still beats turning the thing by hand for 10 minutes.

what was wrong with it??

my engine service light came on and i took it and they checked the computer and it gave the code for the cats when they checked they told me that the cats were basicaly non functional my service guy basicaly said it was "rotting from inside to out"

Wow, thats surprising, how many miles do you have, and what brand of gas do you use?
I only have 15,000 miles on my 09 so far.

On my way in to work early in the morning on a long straight stretch of highway with no cars as far as I could see in front of me, I hit 145mph in 3rd gear. Engine didn't sound strained and the road felt great under the BCs.

This is the first day of the first week that I have ever driven a turbocharged anything. I'm just glad it is the FX.
