What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

installed my hood deflector. awesome fit. also put in my oem infiniti cargo mat. the edges around the aluminum plate by the hatch isnt really molded to the car. oh well does it job. Maybe need a nice hot day for it to mold in flat
 
Installed my afr meter gauge in the clock bezel. More on this later. I still haven't installed the sensor...

Great location. Now you need another gauge to balance the look.. Maybe a boost gauge ;)

Might as well get their OBII gauge and put that in the opposite location to balance it out!

Nice idea, didn't know if there was room back there.

A symmetrical gauge would be tough. I had to build a new bracket for the clock on the side that now holds the gauge, and this particular gauge barely fits. Any bigger and I'd have to sacrifice one of the clips the secures the bezel, which is less than ideal. I guess I could if i had to, but I don't have a need for another gauge at this point. I can't afford the boost gauge... :p

Man that is VERY NICE, Tim. Like Ian was saying, need another one on the other side to complete the look. Love to hear the detail when you have a chance.

Thanks, buddy. Here's the back. Note the deleted screw boss, the added clock bracket, and the intact bezel mounting clip/pawl.

I think this is the best place for the gauge among the three locations that we have mounted the gauge. I will definitely change mine to there when I have some time later. I really wanted to have another gauge on the other side of the clock to balance it out. Thanks for the pic Tim.
 
That's funny. It sort of looks like a retina scanner.

I have always had an inexplicable love for altimeters though...

yeah man those boost gauges do def cost a fortune if you want it to actually read into the positive pressure range :tongue (2): :smile (2):
 
Morning. FML. Wife dropped the remote start fob for the FX in -38C weather. it shattered. then FX would not unlock with the fob. it would unlock with factory fob but only for 5 sec then lock again. She needed in the FX so she opened the door with factory fob and alarm sound. She had to disconnect the bat to stop alarm. Without the car for the day. "yelling at me over e-mail" like it is my fault I am in russia. Managed to call installer but after hrs. then internet search and was able to disarm the alarm and get the FX running again. All this while I am in russia and her in canada. On a plus note the installer called and e-mailed first thing in the AM whice is good service if you ask me. Now I need to get home fork out $$ to get it fixed. I guess that is where my $1050 bonus is going this month.
