Yesterday I noticed that when I let go of the gas pedal, as the RPM drops, there is a sqeeking noise from the rear of the car. At first I tought it was a loose belt but I verified and it was from the rear.
Also, there was a constant noise as well which I asumed was from the Walbro Fuel pump which is know for being loud. I was running low on gas but since my fuel level indicator, like a lot of other people, does not work properly, I did not think it was that low.
Today as I droped off my Kids at school, I noticed that the noise was still there and it would come on as I let go of the pedal. All of a sudden, the noise came on but stayed on. Within a few seconds my Engine Light came on as well. At this point I was convinced that it must be the fuel pump dying. No more than a minute later, as I was shifting from 1 to 2, right about 3K RPM, the engine stalled and came back.
I wasn't sure if I was running out of gas or it was the Fuel pump giving out. So I drove another few blocks to a Mobile Station. I filled it up with about 10 Gallons of 91 Gas, and hit the gas a few times. But the Engine light stayed on.
I drove to the dealer and I explained the problem. Unfortunatly, all the Lead Techs where at a meeting so they could not check the code, so the service manager asked me to come back. He did however tell me that a lot of people are having the fuel gage issue. Also he said that my problem may have to do with the Fuel Sending Sensor??? Furthermore, he said that since I've changed my fuel pump there might be an issue with warranty, but he'll try to work it out for me.
I drove for about 20 miles in traffic and stopped to get lunch, when I got back in the car, the Engine light was off and has not come back on since. I drove to Orange County and back, but nothing.
WTF???
