water gurgling noise after coolant change

No sure what u guys are doing. But I drain and filled about 5 g35s and a maxima. All with no issues or bubbles. No compressed air or anything. Just simple common sense running the car without the cap and watching the flow.

Careful bleeding and draining of the rad and plugs is required. Just don't take them off instantly.

The squeezing hose is a great idea. I do it to most cars when I'm under the hood.

Your way is ok and no problem, the compressed air and using water first and bleeding from every where possible is just an attempt to kick maximum old coolant out that is all. There will be old coolant left in all cases that is for sure.

I did not have any bubbles or a lot of sounds in my case. As per the manual after the change, the level in reservoir tank kept dropping and I kept to refill till it stopped dropping.

Shoulda used distilled water to flush the system. Overall good job.

Bottled water in some cases is just worst then tap water. Some bottled contains minerals that could eat up the interior.

I did not know that!, but the bottled water was flushed out, besides, the 50% inhibitor in the new coolant should take care of any possible corrosion or such right? I can certainly re-do the coolant change one more time to be sure.

Bottled spring water, is water taken for a waterfall or something. Its just bottled and cleaned. The minerals are still present, some people want this stuff. I dont know much on it because i used to think bottle water was cleaned but if it was then it would be distilled bottled water instead of spring bottled water. I used to use tap water for my older cars and finally my 96 camry crumbled internally this year. Really not horrible and i cant exactly point the finger at the bottled water because i used generic prestone coolant. My 98 maxima was done the same way up til maybe 3 years ago when i opted for OEM nissan coolant.

I tried all the solutions above and I still got air bubbles. I ran the car without the cap on and even burped the air release valve. Believe me I tried everything. The real solution is that the air bubble noises go away after like a few weeks of driving and the coolant level settles in the tank.



I think the reason why you never had an issues is because you never did a full drain on the car. I tilted the car sideways and removed the coolant plug thats on the actual block itself. If you just drain it from the radiator you're not going to get all of the coolant out. Since I did a complete drain and fill all the lines and block and radiator were completely empty which resulted in a more difficult time bleeding the system.

Hummm, I asked you about those drain plugs on the engine block , I tried to locate them but it was really a tight spot and there were too many bolts. I do not have a pavement yet so I jacked up the car on the dirt, it was really a painful excercize and there was not much room for me to get comfortably under the car either, barely enough to remove the under engine cover and access the radiator drain plug.

I know I that some of the old coolant is still there, probably if I repeated what I have done two more times over next couple of weeks then all old coolant will be out by then, well, 90% at least .

The issue of trapped air is i think because there are too many valves and ways in the cooling system, there is the thermostat and the water control valve, there are 3 circulating options for the coolant:

1) Thermostat closed - water valve closed > coolant circulates only around the cylinder head and heater
2) Thermostat open - water valve closed > coolant circulates around the cylinder head, radiator and heater
3) Thermostat open - water valve open > coolant circulates around the cylinder head, cylinder block, radiator and heater

Could be. Simple maintence is all the car needs. Adding 40-60% of new fluids every year is just as going a full flush every 2-3 years. Plus there are many reasons to open up the cooling system down the road I like to do drain and fills.

I guess ur solution is let time/gravity do its job.

I'm with TurtLeG, regular maintenance of drain & fill of 40% - 60% on an annual basis if your in a hot climate; where as in Chicago area, I drain and fill every other years works good for me. I have not have an problem with cars cooling system using that method with all my cars in the pass.
