VQ35DE FX35 Sea Foam

Pretty good for a 10 second MS Paint DIY! Having 100K+ miles you notice any difference or a lot of carbon coming out of your exhaust? Did you use full or half a can via suction method?

Yeah mine smoked. We're doing Chris's tonight.

1/2 can suction, 1 full can gas tank.

Speaking of Sea Foam-ing your plenum, here's a shot of the plenum on my project motor. I'm guessing the owner didn't read this thread... :p

Got some questions:

1. Do you do everything at once? Put seafoam into gas, crank case, plenum all at once and start it up?
2. For the gas tank, is there a certain point to put in the seafoam? For example, when the tank is near full or near empty or does it even matter?

Thanks

Yeah, mines really started smoking when I got onto the E-way. Boy, I hope I didn't cause an accident; that was some James Bond 007 stunt.

Smokescreen engaged lol

Chris, do you notice any difference in acceleration, gas mileage, car starting up/idling smoother or just anything beneficial? I've always use the full can into the gas tank method every couple month, but never through the vacuum hose.

Going to be attempting this today, 1/3 of can through the hose ( If I can find it :|)
1/3 in the oil, and then 1/3 in the gas

i'll try to video record it if I can get an extra set of hands to help me out

I did the vacuum hose method through the plenum and my car smoked a lot for about five six mins and then not really (I have 107k) and noticed the car ran a lot more smoothly and a little better gas mileage buttt when i changed my plenum with the kinetix v plus the oem plenum had a lotttt of carbon buildup like a crap load it was yellowish Orange colored.

That's not carbon, that's my mother!

Only kidding, it's actually oil that's recirculated into the intake. Carbon would be black.

recap of the seafoam I did today,

I got confused and didn't know which one to have a third of the can sucked in
so I just dumped half of the can into the oil, and then half into my gas tank (less than half full )
let it sit for about 10 minutes, turned on the FX
and .............. nothing :| nothing happened, nothing out of the ordinary which is kinda scary I reved it, then I took it on the highway and I don't know, nothing near the amount of smoke I see in the videos. Is it because I didn't have any sucked in ?
I don't know, didn't feel anything different driving either, already did my oil change and changed my filter.

Also buddy of mine did it with me on his 2010 Camry same method same results, lol

The smoke is caused by BURNING the naptha oil in Sea foam. Adding it to your crankcase doesn't burn it and adding it to your full fuel tank dilutes it so much that the smoke isn't noticeable. Adding it to the intake (sucking it in) is what causes the big smoke show.

Yeah I figured that might be the reasons, is it okay to leave it in my gas tank like that driving it around ?
and damn I wanted to see if my neighbors would run outside and say anything if I smoked up the whole neighborhood, lol

Yes. Leaving it in the fuel tank is its intended use.

love it! i do it once a year but always scared bout my neighbors complaining.

Question. is it ok to pour it in the gas tank say every month? how much should i pour in on a full tank of gas?

I really don't think there's a need to put it in the gas EVERY month. I usually run a bottle of Lucas Oil treatment every oil change. But that's all personal preference of course
