Vortech SuperCharger

the best mods you could do (as of now) to your 45 are all NA. There had been some (minimal) progress on a supercharger, a bore kit and a turbo kit but nothing came to life. Basically, there's too little space for turbos, and there's not much aftermarket support for the 45. Thinking overly simple, you could fabricate a mounting plate for all the pulleys and the supercharger for a vortech, use a standalone ECU, use aftermarket injectors (if any) and go FI that way but it'll cost you a LOT and you'll have a hard time finding somebody to do this.

A single turbo and or a centrifugal SC is doable with the right custom fab shop. No room for a TT but I was told when I was doing some research that a single system was doable within the confined space.

Anyone know where I can get one of these in Kansas City?

This can be done... no doubt about it....

Just need more time...:cool::confused::nerd::crossedlips:

+1 . I would contact Speed Force Racing in SoCal. They do ALOT of one off crap. TOP quality work by them but be prepared to pay $$$$ once you add up the turbo and built motor. Talk to Tim (TurboTim) there, he is a master at welding beautiful pieces up for ya. Turnaround time should be around 4 days just for turbo and 2 weeks for built engine. Heres a link to his website so you can see what i mean.

is SGP back to running normally now after Ike? i know people had issues getting into contact with them shortly after.

wouldnt say everything is up and running. They are catching up on work done. Plus, Mark had to fire half his crew because of theft. Mark, Eric, and Shawn are now the people that fixes up cars while wife answers phones.

FX45 Supercharger

Whoa!! Sounds like I will stik with some good aftermarket exhaust. Any recommendations? I have a z06 with Corsa and it rocks. Nothing sounds like a v8. But my FX doesn't quite growl like the z06. I would like something that sounds good at idle, and at speed, but I DO NOT WANT THAT TUNER WHAP sound like you here on some modded out civic. Ok, you get the point.

Nismo, HKS Legamax, Stillen are the three obvious choices. I went a different route and modded an APS Single Turbo exhaust to fit the 35. Sounds like a louder, deeper stock at low rpms but gets crazy when you hit it. Check my signature if curious..

Nismo would be my choice if you don't want much custom route or HKS if you want a bolt on. Stillen bolts on to 35 as well but 45 needs modding.

Eg3 is correct on all counts. Also, check out video clips in the video section for different exhaust sound clips as well as youtube. If you like the corsa on a v8 then you want to go with a custom flowmaster setup which others have done as well on the 45's and 35's. I personally like the nismo on my v8 as it still gives a deep throaty rumble but not too much as with stangs and typical muscle v8 muscle cars.

Stillen & Nismo sound good on the 8, but I dont think it'll ever sound like a Chevy.
Funny you mention it, & I know alot of us are running the 6, but I was cruising with a buddy of mine last week, & he described my setup perfectly. 'Doesnt sound like a tuner, . . sounds like a SportBike' . . I agree . . . I have yet until now to have the words to describe the sound. Now I do.

Guys i think ill go for a stillen supercharger stage 3 cuz installing vortech sound difficult and need a lot of work.

i found a used kit was installed on a Z350.. it will fit right?

also i was wondering, as i know stage 2 and above have intercoolers, but all the pics that i saw have no intercoolers:confused:

regarding to your first question, I sent stillen email and they replied by:
Thank you for your inquiry!

The 350Z supercharger will not fit on the FX35.

We have a specific supercharger designed for the FX35.

STILLEN - Steve Millen Sportparts

I think they want you to buy a new one rather than buying a used 350z's one

Stillen kit for 350z or g35 are different in two ways:
1) intercooler piping is shorter. You'll need to get them extended
2) engine tuning is different. You'll need to get a custom tune on the Stillen box (if anybody does that) or go for a piggy back (UTEC, emanage, unichip) or go with a TS tune like FXtion did.

Everything above stage 2 has intercoolers.

Can anyone show me the piping for the intercooler? because the piping for the turbo kit and the vortch are visible not like the stillen kit
And how much will i need to extend the pipes?
Can i get it done in a local garage in here or it needs a lot of work?

about the tunning.. i already have unichip ill just retune it.

The piping that's going to be extended will be behind the intercooler, not at the sides so it won't be visible from the front, it'll be visible when you take a look under the hood. A local garage with enough force induction experience will either stock aluminum intercooler piping or can order it in various sizes so that won't be a major problem.

Intercooler piping can be extended either by using silicone couplers and multiple small pieces or it can be extended using a custom approach without using Stillen pipes. Either way, it's not a major issue. I don't know how much you'll need to extend though. Ask Fxtion about it.

Using unichip you can either scale the 7th injector that comes with the Stillen kit or you can get 6 larger injectors and scale those. IMO, since you'll be using unichip already, why not get 6 440cc or larger injectors and use those? You'll have better results that way.
