Ventilated Seat Filter: Deep Thoughts

Greetings all. For the past 13 months I wear double or triple face masks every day. As a physician, I see Covid-19 patients all the time.

I've read a couple posts about a $237 charge for the dealer to replace the seat filter.

So, I ask myself, "In the scheme of things, is there a LOWER priority for filtering, chilled or warmed air that is going to my a$$?"

I don't really have a question. Just thinking some deep thoughts.

I cannot thing of a lower priority of filtering; however, purchasing both filters for about $20 and using 10 minutes of one's one time to replace them, will result in a happier cooled or chilled a$$ as opposed to the A$$ chilled or cooled as a result of the $237 dealer charge!!!

You could also just pull them out and give them a good clean. You will find that filter in the passenger seat is really clean compared to the driver's side. Just blow them out with compressed air and soak in soapy water.

Those are my thoughts, exactly. I understand, as a fellow DIY person, it's a no brainer. My statement was more an explanation of how my mind works, maybe like a comic might look at something.

There's a product that you can give to dogs to make it unpalatable so that they don't eat their own poo. "How bad does something have to taste that it tastes WORSE than dog $hit? I mean, really. Like dog $hit doesn't taste bad enough already?"

Roger that.

Is anyone else able to confirm if all years have these filters? must looks like my 2015 QX70S doesn’t have filters.
Instead there is just a screen on the blower module that doesn’t look like it can be easily removed.

I have a 2015 QX70S to and I have never been able to find it either ?? maybe it doesn't have one...

All 2nd generation FXs and QXs have these seat filters--small circular filters as shown above located in the center of the seat bottom, accessed by reaching under the seat from the rear passenger seat area. Be sure to raise the front seat and move forward as far as you can. It takes about 3 minutes for each seat. Filter can be cleaned gently with light vacuum and then soap and water and allowed to dry before reinstalling. Dealers steal your money if you let them. Replacement filters available on line for a song.

I tried finding these filters but it doesn’t look like my 2015 has them. I posted a photo above and wasn’t able to see any removable filter.

Hey gmgagne why don't you take that picture that SK posted and put a little red arrow to where the filter is and repost it, that might help...Thank

Skyfox is correct, my 2015 has a module under the seat that looks just like the picture he posted. If there is a filter in there, it's not going to be quite as easy to access.
