cant do it with the regular scanner I have, and i have a good one. D i need a certain scan tool?

Oh yeah forgot to add that when I put my scanner on I dont get any codes at all but my lights are on. Never ever happened before.
You need a tool that has good OE coverage, if you do not want to invest in one then just go to a Nissan dealer.
I assume the tool you have is basic one, that can mostly clear the "service engine soon" warning. If so then it won't help.
It is essential that you read what trouble code you got, it will narrow down the possible causes and ease the troubleshooting, it might as well save you money fixing things that do not need to be fixed.
