turbocad's custom fx

Jeff has the blacked out side molding, and it seems to work well. I think that could work as long as you don't mind a line there as opposed to a smooth body.

What's cool TC is opening up a thread like this and seeing a bunch a**holes jumping in and telling you how to redesign your car! Hah!

MOST times there is something to be gained from the back and forth, you just have to watch for the pearl that fits your personal plan........I always get a kick watching the viewer input build over time. You are actually quite good about taking it all in....stride.

With the front bumper, you might also need to be conscious of the possibility of an intercooler if that was something down the road.
4k

That front bumper does look restrictive as far as an intercooler goes. Very small opening down low, but it is a very wide opening so a wider, shorter intercooler might just be fine in there. I know the JWT TT intercooler is as wide as can be using 2 cores and connecting in the center. Something wide like that should work fine with the given M6 bumper.

I'm still not feeling the "diffuser look," but the front looks awesome and I agree to keep the handles chrome after seeing before/after. The chrome moldings should definitely go body colored if you're even considering it (again, the before/after shows a world of difference).

To Logan, calm down with calling everybody who replied a-holes. He's posting this to show us and hear our opinions. In the end it's up to him to decide on what he's going to do. We're not trying to influence him one way or the other, we're giving constructive criticism. He likes the diffuser look, and half of the people here also like the look, I just don't

The exhaust coming from inside the bumper is cool. I always liked it on the Lexus IS-F.

Turbo actually did ask for opinions as stated here, but anyone is free to comment on their opinions as this is a public forum. =)
looks like it might work well I think... any opinions on this look?

guys, I'm very sure logan ment that as a figure of speech & I'm sure he means this as in even including himself, I'm pretty sure from the way I read his post that he don't mean any real slander to anyone, specially since he followed it with a haha  & yeah, getting others opinions are always a good thing, but even if everyone hated something that I particularly loved, don't mean I still wouldn't do it, it's when I'm not sure weather I really like something or not that others opinions may carry more weight

in the end it's about what you yourself like for yourself, like bert said to each there own, but I really do appreciate the opinions too which is why I did ask for them  but this is fully knowing that this may be something that I've thought about & considered for many hours & in depth, where an others opinion will just be a casual passing thought, so yeah, take them with a grain of salt I guess...

I'm guessing more than half will not like the wing I have planned, but I think I will love it & it's something that I've pictured on the fx from the day I got it, so even if many don't like it, it wouldn't bother me really to hear it, I almost expect it, don't change the fact that I think it'll look hot to me

This may be kind of out there-- but have you ever considered shaving the door handles? If you eliminated the lower chrome bar, a shaved door handle could be an interesting look having everything smoothed out.

Anyone good enough at photo shop to do one of these?

i read about the wing.. but even tho you described pretty well i couldnt picture it in my head.. it would be something to look forward to..

i think logan meant everyone including him self..... i personally didnt get offended by it(new yorker's attitude).. lol

I've had shaved handles on cars in the past, my caddy even has them & I really hate shaved handles now  way more of a pita than there worth. I have since got other handles to reinstall handles to the caddy if/when I ever decide to redo thaty car. now I would be more inclined to do a handle swap or a handle retrofit than shaved really. for example if I was doing my whole body here then the handles I'd do are the gtr handles, clean shaved look but still functional & not a complete pain in the ass like shaved handles... not a fan of them anymore really. even my astrovan i swapped out to lincoln handles because I hated the stock handles but would never want to do shaved handles again really.

Thanks for seeing my intended response on this TC. I see the humor in everyone contributing so much on every level whether the person laying it out there utilizes the input or not. Like Jumbos chrome grill thread, Or Turbocads body mod thread its all out there and everyone has an opinion. I was referencing myself (tongue in cheek) more than anyone. Next time I'll be more clear...no harm no foul.

I understood what you meant Logan, but I also know how you like to joke around. Knowing your personality a little, I didn't jump the conclusion that you were being serious, like others could easily do.

I don't think anyone here took Logan's remark seriously except maybe for Frank a little bit who is now a evo convert and not a regular FX'r lol.

Hehe it's just the foul language itself... if it were replaced with jerks or similar then I wouldn't have even replied. No harm intended Logan, and no offense taken.

Aaaanyways, John I'm glad you're against the shaved handles because it looks like crap in that photoshop. Is there any way you can render a photoshop of the wing or are we gonna have to wait until the unveiling of the actual product?

Another idea I had that I think would look good (considering Turbo's color) is a BMW-style fender. (see photo)

(without the M3 logo, obviously).

I know there are a few schools of thought on these-- obviously the 'ricer' version that you see on all the crappy cars that is a maserati-wannabe (below):

http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt=A9G_bDuyCq9KCXIAMfmjzbkF/SIG=12rl1h621/EXP=1253071922/**http%3A//www.usspeedonline.com/Merchant2/graphics/00000001/AC-RD-SQ-F.jpg
(shameful)

But a fender 'vent' or 'badge' that is not a crappy stick-on would look great i.e. the cadillac style:

or

Again, I realize these aren't for everyone, but I think with the black metallic paint it could look good... thoughts?

Love the Camero rear and the front piece all u need now are some clean side skirts!!!

see the picts bro.. the sideskirt will more likely match the one in the photos.. more or less.. :winky:

Agree-- I think it would have to be done perfect (which is why I thought of Turbo, haha) and it would look excellent.

Didn't know if Turbo had metal or welding skills... just assumed.

NO fender vents

no ps's on the wing, but I did a foam board mock up to see position & size & shape kinda. far as the wing, I have a vision of what I believe it will look like. if I can get it to be like the vision I have for it & I like it then it'll go on, if it never quite looks right to me then it may not, but I know what I want it to look like in my head at least:tongue:

just like the other stuff I showed. you gotta kind of see what it looks like in your head, the pictures here are just suggestive & explain but do no accurately illustrate what any of this will actually look like, to see that you have to have vision & more really see it in your head than just what you see on the computer screen

& the m6 opening is not so small really, heres a picture to see the shape more, of course without the carbon fiber add on splitters, def way more opening than the original fx bumper opening, that whole lower bumper just looks like it belongs on the fx to me ....

As of right now I'm indifferent about it. It definitely doesn't look bad, but hard to picture it without seeing a view with a higher vantage point. Does it split in the center at one of the support brackets? Also, will the support (in the center) tie in with the no-longer-existing-rear-wiper's hole? That would be an awesome use of that hole instead of a plug.

Edit: on second thought, I think I've just realized why your rear wiper plug looked so odd and ugly... it's intentionally not a flat disc for future plans... nice.
