Haha hey Soon, you don't have anything to do with that photography would you...?? When placing that comment

Great work John....you keep amazing us... Keep me posted buddy i really want to do something when your ready for a next bunch.

hey doc, answered your pm somewhat for now, well follow up with details by the weekend

& soon, that's your fault with all the nikon this & nikon that, nikon nikon nikon.... so I just had to get the nikon  now just to figure out how to do more than just "auto" shots though :shy:

desiii, I have lights, I have a lot of lights, I have a whole lot of lights... my basement & my garage at home have been converted into an fx light factory  I'm not sure exactly how many sets I have in total but I'd say a bunch, maybe ~ 25 sets at least in various stages of dissasembly to still complete... heres a picture of my garage, that wall of lights is many of the unopened ones I have, but I still have another 15 sets or so in pieces in my basement & few sets here & there, the left side shelving I bought just to help organize this project too & there are more lights under construction buried there too... so yeah, I have lights:tongue:

I've been buying headlights for the fx since I got my fx. in the beginning I paid over $100 a pair, $200 & better for sports, but I always have my eyes open for headlights & in a bit over a year I've built up a collection of them & have gotten some pairs for even less than $100, which is why I figured ~100 a pair average as cores, really should be more when you factor in the time & the shipping & stuff but wanted to be as fair as possible...

ebay mostly, I've found a few pairs here & there locally too...

& soon, as far as plastic molding goes, wow bro,now that I have learned how to do molds & stuff & now I can build almost anything I want with enough effort & practice & patience... if I had an 09 fx I'd be building clear tails I guess even at this point, but since I don't then no, I won't be doing that, too many other projects in the works to even think about that, but yeah, creating stuff from nothing is pretty cool  I have so many other things in mind that I can eventually use these techniques with...

I remember when I first got my car you couldn't buy a set for under $400 a pair (w/ballast).

great job john! in IMO i think the clear side marker are brighter than the yellow/orange one.. keep it coming bro!!

a few progress shots...

I've got just about everything perfected now, projector mount & shielding, bezel trimmiing & fit, a method for flawless paint in both gloss & semi-gloss, a method for capping off the chrome to retain the chrome rings, found the right material for the little block off plates, the clear side markers... just finishing up 2 pair of these to send off to cali by the weekend... whole lot of work to get to this end result...

I'm treating these things like there jewlery or something, every detail as perfect as can be... this is why this stuff takes me so long too, if I can't get one step perfect I can't move on to the next, & with this project it's a matter of perfecting the techniques for each step too so there duplicatable & readily repeatable...

this is the final mock up test light
