Transmission slipping after dealer flush

I believe there is one. The different is that there isn't a dipstick where you can just pour fluid in. You have to use a pump to get fluid into the fill hole similar to how you change differential fluid. So you can drain and fill, it's just more work than on a first gen.

I'm pretty sure there is one, the dealer has to be able to access it somehow. Not worth the trouble of buying the equipment or doing the labor myself. If it was something that was done as often as an oil change, then yes looking into doing it myself is beneficial. For something that gets done once, maybe twice over the course of owning the car, IMO it's easier to let the dealer do it, especially with no dip stick. With no dip stick you have to play the "how does it feel when driving game" after putting the recommend amount of fluid in. Bad enough the dealer didn't even get it right the first time lol.

They did a tranny flush right after the radiator change as per my request since I have 56,000 and one is due at 60,000 anyway so I doubt it was coolant in the tranny fluid. That's good info to know though, a radiator change should require a tranny flush as standard protocol if that's the case. Luckily I was due for one anyway or I would probably go get one just because you brought that to my attention.

So I went back to the dealer and had them check the fliud level in the tranny and they claim it was definitely low and they topped it off. I'm happy to say......... no more bucking. This certainly wasn't the normal kind of bucking some of you are describing as normal, as a matter of fact the day I was taking back to the dealer, I was leaving a gas station and I slowed to look both ways leaving the driveway and when I got back on the accelerator (I didn't no where near accelerate aggressively) the car paused then bucked forward so hard I felt like if I wasn't paying attention it could have launched me into oncoming traffic. The other thing I noticed that morning was that when I stopped completely, after about 3 seconds of being completely stopped I could see and feel the car try to push forward a little, then settle, seeming something like what shadow191 describes above.

The FX definitely does a fair amount of rough shifting with the 7 speed tranny but this was far beyond normal. Anyway if anybody ever experiences this type of thing as drastic as I did especially after a tranny flush, now they will know where to start trouble shooting. Thanks fellas.
thank you very much. I had very same issue with my transmission. had been struggling with it for 1,5 year (bought used 2010 FX35) thought that it needed a reflash. but now when I saw your post, went to the dealer and changed transmission oil. It was missing 2 quarts of oil. Changed it, topped off and now it runs great! I am very excited that I can drive my FX as it supposed to drive!

I think you can drain and fill according to my manual. It looks like the process though because you would need to connect an obd reader and maintain a pretty specific temperature while performing the operations.

As far as flushes go, I wanted to drop off a ride bit of information as I used to work at a transmission manufacturing factory. (From scratch mass production, not a rebuild shop)

There's a rumor that flushing a high mileage tranny with new fluid will mess it up. This is true and false. True if it's done incorrectly...

Tranny fluid has detergent in it to remove sludge, over time it loses effectiveness. If you go 150k miles or whatever without doing drain and fills or flushes, that sludge has built up cause the detergent expires. So here's comes Joe shade tree , who adds a shit load of new fluid with fresh detergent or a jiffy lube does a flush, all that sludge breaks free at once in large chunks and clogs all kinds of shit.

To properly do a flush if it's been a while, a cleaning solution MUST be ran through the flushing machine to remove all the sludge before adding the new fluid with all that fresh detergent.

I spoke with my local Infiniti dealership and this is what they do. The dealership, who confirm s they know what they are doing is the ONLY place / person I'd let fuck with my tranny, even with their high cost. It's just too good of a tranny with few reported issues to let someone else touch. (Not that any of you do)

Anyway I'll be flushing in about 8k miles then drain and fills to 200k. The reason I want a flush is my last Blackstone report showed I have alot of wear material from the break in still floating in my tranny fluid. (This is at 138k miles and drain and fills Haven't removed it)
