My tpms screen shows psi for all 4 tires. After several miles, the tpms warnigh light comes on and screen shows 1 or sometimes 2 tires with** instead of the psi. Any suggestions? Thanks

Your tpms shows all ****? Omg, the forum will cease to function unless this is fixed! Good thing you posted it here on Site News and Support ; )

Sounds like you are being facetious. That's a great way to respond to a newbie who really does'nt understand how to navigate this web site as well as you. Also, the post does not say that all were asteriks. I think the key words were 1 or 2 showed ***. Thank you for the chastising. Now, do you have any usable advice to help resolve the issue with my fx?
Thanks,
Dwaine

Just some friendly prodding at the new guy. Could be the batteries are dying and as you drive it's just losing connection. Other than replacing, the only thing I could think of would be to have them reassociated and see if that solves the problem.

Guess New Guy didn't see the ;) at the end of the post to indicate sarcasm/friendly ribbing.

I also think it is a dead sensor. If they haven't been replaced before, it may be time.

My bad.... I am gonna get some skin thickner for you guys. Thanks for helping me out. Too sensitive in Texas

He got me good, I thought hazing was illegal. Just wait until I become a seasoned veteran. Newbies watch out!!!! Seriously, I really do appreciate the info that you shared. Thank you,

...quite a similar problem but...
if the wheels are swapped the *.* remaines in the same position, what is reading the tpms output?
Any sensors near the wheel?

Dwaine, all is good here and welcome to the site.
Sorry about the ribbing, this is a great forum and we welcome you.

As some of the others said, the sensors could be going. Go to the Dealers and explain the problem and have the sensors reprogrammed and see if this rectifies the problem, if not, replacement may be required. If you do have to replace sensors, shop around, aftermarket sensors are generally much cheaper than OEM ones.

No prob, if not for you, I would still post in the wrong category.

I am on my way to the dealership now, I will follow up with ya'll with the solution.

It's a good thing PMG got a hold of your post first dwaine, anyone else on iS would have ripped you a new one! Welcome to the forum =)

Sensors aren't location specific, you can swap tires and the sensors will still show as the same location.

Bet on it being the batteries in the TPMS like the others said. Don't bother with the dealer. Mine is an '06 and one is dead so it's time to replace them all since I believe the batteries are good for 7 years or so. Just got some replacements off of Amazon, Orotek OSC-0064 ($30 each) and they can self learn so you don't need them programed by the dealer if you do it yourself with the help of the DIY article somewhere on this site. Sorry, don't have the time to look it up right now

Didnt know that. Thanx
... whitch makes this system a bit pointless. You can see that one tyre is starting to go flat but you dont know whitch one :)

It indicates which tire has what pressure. He meant that you can move you driver front wheel to any other location and the computer will read the psi at that new location without having to reprogram it.

When you first rotate tires, the light may come on since the system does expect the sensors to be where they were. But it should correct after driving for a little while. And for those people near Discount Tires, the DIY method above may not be necessary since they will reprogram TPMS for free at most of their locations. It would be quicker.
