The availability of subject matter regarding cargo boxes that fit our vehicles is rather limited. However, one can still find images showcasing various cargo boxes mounted on FX/QX models.
Regrettably, I was unable to find any information regarding whether the OEM fixed point cross bars can accommodate these cargo box options.
The answer to this query is quite straightforward: the fixed-point X-bars significantly restrict your choices if you wish to maintain hatch clearance while mounting a cargo box.
For the sake of aesthetics, I made the decision to purchase gloss black fixed point x-bars, unaware that my options would be limited despite my diligent research.
As it turns out, the Thules Vector M and the Motion XT M can be mounted on the fixed point X-bars, but only at their maximum adjustment limitations. This means that the internal cargo box rails will not slide any further once they are seated on the X-Bars.
Initially, this limitation seemed like a dealbreaker, as I believed that I would not be able to access the cargo area due to the hatch not opening wide enough.
However, upon closer inspection, I discovered that with the Vector in its maximum forward position allowed by the fixed point x-bars, although the hatch does not open fully, it opens enough to comfortably access the cargo compartment without hitting my head (I am 5'9).
The X-Bars I purchased are Gloss Black Reinforced Aluminum OEM replicas with a weight capacity of 225lbs.
Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the construction quality, fitment, and aesthetic appeal of the X-Bars and the Thule Vector M.
