The Random Question Thread

It's just a 5.1 surround sound. Super basic just to have speakers behind the couch is all. TV audio isnt too great and can't afford a 7.1 surround. But very few anything use 7.1 still right?

Yea I am going to upgrade the tv I think. It's just for a very basic set up. But I won't able to tell too much anyways. Thanks guys!

Iam looking with my girlfriend for a dog. We are going to rescue for sure and I am leaning towards a pit pull or american stafford however you want to call them. Does anyone have one? And anyone able to recommend a forum to look at? There's a million so want to find the IS of pit bull forums if possible. Any help is appreciated.

My rescue has worked with chicagolandbullybreedrescue.org in the past. I'm glad that you're going via rescue, there's a lot of dogs that need a good home. Pits are working dogs therefore exercise is a must on these guys, daily walks or runs; unless you want to come home to torn couches :-) I do ask you to make sure you can commit the time, training and care to a rescued dog. The saddest thing to see is a rescued dog being returned because the owners didn't realize the commitment needed. Good luck and keep us posted.

Jonas-I got off of it like 6 months ago....just a waste of time to me. (IS is not a waste!)

Thanks Ian. I will look into that. We are ready to keep him or her very active. However we don't want one with a history of violence. We aren't ready for that commitment. We have a lot of friends and family who are anti pit because of their reputation.just going to different shelters and talking to people. They are actually really nice dogs when trained and raised right. Hopefully we can open some eyes.

Of course I will keep IS posted. Any help or push in the right direction helps.

I think you need your own website! Everybody wins.

Got the label as professional services! Wow escalated quickly. I'm still trying to find the on switch.

Yeah if you had facebook you would see my facebook page on how it got started, who came up with the name, etc! ;)

My friend has two pits. Nicest dogs ever! Just be sure to socialize them A LOT when there small and make a lot of people different meet the dog, I mean like kids adults and all. That way he'll realize humans are all friendly and be very strict on him when he makes a mistake. I would take him to local dog parks too if you can, that way he can get dog friendly. With the right discipline, exercise, and getting him or her socialized, you can't go wrong! Pitbulls are great dogs!

Rescues will NEVER adopt out a dog with a bite history. I suggest a puppy so you can have as much influence on its upbringing; potty training sucks though. Pits are great dogs, some of the most loving breeds.

Thanks Ian. There is a cue puppy at that place but I think he will get too big. We have a 50lb limit. He would have been perfect though.

Cute*

That's a cute pup.

I would also apply to all the pit rescues in the area. The reputable ones will interview you both and don't a home visit. This is to insure that your expectations are set properly and to see if your lifestyle fits the pup your looking to get. Once you're approved you can wait for the right one. Puppies go quickly and those who are already approved get priority.

Thanks guys. We are seeing him tonight. We have applied to a bunch of places Ian. For those exact reasons. The puppies especially go very quickly so getting priority is key.

We are planning on seeing that puppy tonight.they also told us that the got new puppies last night. So should be interesting. Ill keep you posted.

Does anyone have experience with Sear's Craftsman warranty on hand tools? The reason I ask is because I bought some sockets from Lowe's (Kobalt Brand) with a hassle free lifetime warranty. I broke 2 sockets from the set of 10, and in order to exchange them, they wanted the whole set back which was a nuisance. From my understanding with Craftsman you just give them the broken ones and they give you replacements? Do you need a receipt? I'll probably just stick with Craftsman in the future...

Pat , I know when I had a couple of worn screwdrivers, they exchanged them no questions asked and I had them for years. I also had a socket replaced, no problem. This was Craftsman tools in a Canadian Sears.

Wow, even Harbor Freight don't as for the whole set back. I bring in only the cracked socket and exchange without question at Harbor Freight. I also replaced a couple sockets and rackets at Sears without any hassles.
