Its the heat shield around the cat. You cannot replace only the heat shield. You need to replace the cat if you really wants the heat shield. I rip mine off the FX35 three years ago when it start rattling. No need for it. Just get under there and snip if off. Don't need it. No effect in anyway for the pass three years.

It need a bit of work to get mine off. In general, the upper end (closer to the engine) still pretty solid. Its the the tail ends that is all rusted through like how your pictures suggested. You will need a pair of metal nipper/shear at the least.
