The Random Question Thread

You guys have any tricks to getting rid of dead rat smell in a car? I got a detail today where two rats died in the air conditioning. He pulled them out but the car still smells horrible. Its a new Subaru outback but literally the smell on the inside makes me want to gag. I am going to steam clean it and soap the carpets but are there any other special methods you use? This is probably the worst thing I have ever smelled in my life.

...is amazing. If anything can get that smell out of the ducts, its this.

No problem. How did rats get into the ducts??

Also, the cheapest I found klima is on amazon, fyi...

Thanks for the product Tim.

Of course. I read about it on AZ (apparently its what the Audi dealers use) and I've used it since on both my current cars quarterly. It's magical. You don't even realize how dirty and musty the vents are until they're suddenly ultra clean.

There a way or place that can increase a pictures resolution? Say there's a picture from a phone (iPhone 5) and want that photos resolution to be much better is there a process that can achieve that or no?

Just use the same software they use on shows like law and order or csi. It's magical the way they can 'clean up an image.'

In all seriousness, there really isn't a way to add resolution to an image after its already processed.

Late response but thanks ill check it on there. Yeah they were towards the blower motor in a box in the system. The guy who does home watch brought it to me right after he pulled two out of there. It was all taken apart and on one of the parts there were still rat hairs stuck to it...:eek.: I ended up steaming it over twice and shampooing all of the carpets and seats which got a lot but not all of the smell out. Im guessing it will be really bad when the air is working again and they blow all of the gross air out. I told him about the product if he wants to give it a go and I think I am going to pick up some to have around for my car anyway.

Good call. It basically fills the entire duct system with expanding foam that reaches into every gap and crevice, then slowly dissolves and drips out the weep holes onto the ground. Its pretty awesome stuff.

Be sure whoever does it follows the directions carefully. The instructions on the bottle make a big deal out of doing it exactly right, though I've never actually heard of anyone screwing it up...

The random question of the day...

When in excel working in a pivot table, is there a way for when you filter to check or uncheck multiple items in a quick way aside from clicking individually?

I know some filters you can do it by like a greater than or less than field but not always an option in a pivot. Seeing if there's a way to like hold something down and scroll or anything that may help. Thanks!

Tim, where do you typically spray this stuff into? Take out the cabin filter, insert the hose and spray the product in from there?
