When are FX's considered to be high mileage and when should you change your oil to a high mileage oil if at all? Or do you keep running synthetic PP/ Mobil1 for the rest of its life?

Hey is there a DIY for changing out the rear shocks I plan on doing this on Saturday.

For sure on that one Andy. I hung out with you Chi-town boys for one day, had a fantastic time, and ended up on the Infiniti cover page with them :smug:

Jeff's DIY on installing coilovers that pmanliu referred to is essentially the same for changing rear shocks. Here is a cliff-note version:

Pre-install: The night before, spray some PB Blaster onto the two 12 mm mounting nuts on top of the shock mounting cup and the 17 mm bolt at the bottom of the shock.

Removal:
1) Jack up the rear and support it with jack stand. NEVER work on car with lift up by a jack.

2) Slide the factory scissor jack or jack under the lower control arm and crank it up just enough to relief some tension on the shock for ease of loosen the bottom 17mm bolt. Careful not to jack up too much that the car is off the jack stand.

3) Loosen the two 12 mm nuts on the top of the shock. Spray more PB Blaster if needed. Make sure when undo the nuts, the socket and extension are in straight line with the bolt to avoid bending or breaking the bolts. Be very careful with loosening the two 12 mm mounting nuts. I remember one member here broke the welded mounting bolts and it was a costly fix.

4) Note the orientation of the rectangular tab on mounting cup before removing it from car.

5) Push down on the shock to slide the top cup off the two mounting and remove it from car.

Installation:
1) Loosen the 18mm (?) nut with a wrench on top of the shock with an Allen wrench holding the center rod. If you have an impact, it works just much better with just the socket on the impact gun. No need hold the center rod if using an impact gun.

2) Note how the pieces comes out and re-install the pieces in the same order onto the new shock.

3) Install the new shock back onto car.

4) Done.

only thing that gets me are that seller's pictures has 8 spoke rims while the 18s only has 7 spokes, and the newer 18s are def not the rims in the pictures he post :|
 
You are right, i didn't count the spokes. Maybe those are replica wheels? Email them to confirm

If you look at the amount of sidewall on those tires, they sure look like 20"

And Handy Andy is here too. What's up RIP? Moving? Downtown Aurora, IL is not exactly where I would want to live. I'm at the edge of Aurora by Naperville. No complaints.
