Any computer geeks here?
I have an Inspiron 1545 and I want to upgrade my RAM from 4GB to 8GB... mainly cause of Photoshop.
I play games, as well. Is there a site to show which will be compatible with my computer?
Right now I have 4GB, 2 2GB each 800MHZ DDR2. Yeah kinda outdated, but it is a 4 year old laptop that has yet to be upgraded.
Also is getting a SSD worth it? I've been looking at Samsungs 840 and Crucial's M4 each 256GB.

In general, you could add any DDR2, the speed is limited by your motherboard. If you're already running 800 Mhz, then the limit is probably somewhere close to that. The good news is that you should be able to buy a ton of memory for basically nothing.

Remove the clock trim first, then gear shifter. Put the FX in N and just pull on both sides behind the cup holder upwards, it will snap off. When the back is loose, lift it up, unplug the seat heater plugs and pull towards yourself.

I've pretty much found what I'll need to make it an ultrabook.
I'm also thinking about installing Windows 8 and dual boot it with Linux Ubuntu.
I'm doing all of this because my friend got a new 13" Macbook Air and I know she will be trying to rub it in my face lol

Anyone have macgyver type ideas for a solution to seeing out the rearview mirror with the entertainment screen down?
I actually saw online someone physically move his entire mirror down a few inches, but that's too extreme. Maybe a clip-on that goes below the mirror? Couldn't find a decent one though.

Alright, Ed. I got this. First you're going to need a few basic household items - a rubber band, six paper clips, two 9v batteries, a bar of soap, three cups of gasoline, one cup of dishsoap, and a slice of apple pie. Wait wait wait, you said rear view mirror? Oh, nevermind. I was thinking of something else.

Not sure how schooled you are with Linux but BackTrack Linux is amazingly powerful. I ran it solely on my old Dell 8600 for quite sometime before installing Windows XP and dual booting. You can run it from a Live DVD to give it a test run.
