The Random Question Thread

Thanks all!!!

step 1: open the freezer and take generous amount of ice
step 2: put ice in a large beer jug
step 3: pour yourself your favorite beer
step 4: lay down on your favorite chair and turn on the TV

Tonight was sponsered by Guinness. No ice tonight, but other times I do ice the brew.

It depends. If you get mail delivered to your door and see the guy/gal everyday you can give him/her a small present (coffee gift card?). In my case I walk out to a multibox mailbox and get mail from there. Barely see him/her, except when I get an occasional oversized package that needs to be delivered to the door. So it would be awkward in my case

I just got 2 Starbucks gift cards for my mailmen(we have 2 guys on the route). I receive many packages through out the year and they take a good care of my parcels all the time.

My mail comes straight to the front door, but I rarely see the carrier. We usually give a treat type gift we have laying around. (I like to have plenty of store bought candy/cookies type gifty packages around and unassigned for impromptu distribution.)
Today, my wife exclaims that we have to give him something today.

Who here gives a Christmas gift to their mail man (or woman). Chime in if you do or do not.

I always give either case or gift cards to DD/Starbucks to my garbagemen , mailman , hairdresser. When I used to live in Manhattan I didnrt have the Gmen or Mailmen but my doorman and super always got $$$ from me. It's just a little sign of gratitude we can show them after a long year of hard work and service to us.

I was reading on the K&N engine air filters and our cars.
I've run into some comments saying that the excessive oil will throw off the MAF sensor.

How do I adequately oil the filter without having too much oil to mess up the sensors?

Clean the filter with the K&N recharge kit. Lightly spray the filter with the oil. ONLY till it turns light red...no more.

Be conservative, a little oil goes a long way on those filters. I also dab it with a paper towel to remove excess.

I'm wrapping my license plate frame to a gold color.
I have my new heat gun plugged in my bedroom.
Every 3 times I turn off the heat gun, a spark shows.. inside the heat gun. Then I smell a somewhat burnt smell. Is this normal..?

If it's a new heat gun, than the smell is normal, it will go away. I just turned off my heat gun(bought at Harbor Freight tools 1 year ago) couple times and it produce the spark inside as well. I guess it's normal, wrapped the whole car and much more with this Heat Gun:smile (2):

Yeah I bought my heat gun last night from Walmart... It's a cheap yellow Wagner model

Sent from my SGH-T999 2

Same here. Cheap heat guns do that. Just make sure you unplug it when finished
