The Random Question Thread

HKS and Nismo are good options. I think Megan has one too, bit im not sure. If you want a used one, my350z.com is a good place to look. If you want it new, Google will find you the best deal currently.

will the oem mid pipe fit between the megan 3 inch y pipe and nismo exhaust? i f'd up and tried cheaping out on the extensions which didnt fit!

Yes, but its going to be a huge bottleneck as the oem tubing is smaller than either of the other pieces. (2.25 vs 3") The flanges will mate though, so it will work.

You mean the Nismo rear section, right?

yea the nismo muffler

No way. The bolts that attach the lower plenum to the intake manifold are under the upper plenum. The gasket (between upper and lower plenum) is reusable though, just be careful when separating the two halves.
I guess I should have known that when I put on the spacer. Always trying to find a short cut. Thanks for the response tchuck.

Yeah, that will fit.

hm i already installed the nismo mid pipe to the muffler. can i reuse that metal ring gasket when i put my oem mid back on? Also when im ready for full nismo do i need a new gasket again or can i use the same one? expensive.. lol

Its a good idea to replace the gaskets each time, that's why I recommended before to use the cheap muffler shop gaskets until you get your system dialed in, then switch to the OEM gaskets. In the end though, its all about the leaks - if you don't have them, you're doing it right.

ill repalce it when the time comes. thats all i had last night. Oem mid pip will not fit Nismo exhaust muffler just tried. Attempting to drill out the busted bolt on the oem muffler so i can get the fx rolling :(

Why doesn't it fit?

all good. sucks that i have to wait for the extension piece to come. Debating if i should wait and hope it comes before thurday and have no fx to drive, or wait for it to cool down before i attempt to put back my oem mid and muffler(hopefully the hole i drilled lines up) and keep the megan y pipe on.

Can someone identify this car?
Someone said a Lamborghini, but I've never seen a Lambo with air ducts like that.

Sure it will be like straight pipes. When I traded my exhaust with another member awhile back the shop took off my OEM exhaust and moved my fx to bring his in and it sounded awesome!
