The Random Question Thread

Today I tried to install my GT spec front lower engine brace. I got the chasis bolts into place there are 4 of them. Then there are 2 bolts that no matter what I did would not come loose. I tried with my impact gun, a pry bar, sprayed it with wd 40 to see if that help and tried it again and wouldnt budge. What can I do to get these to come loose? Should I just go to a shop? I dont really want to pay especially since thats all I have to do to get it installed. Any suggestions??? Oh yeah the 2 bolts are right where the sway bar is, there is one on each side.

Heat it up with torch and spray some WD40 and let it seat for a bit and try again. Be sure to have a fire extinguisher handy when working with a torch.

^^+1. I was just going to suggest that and you beat me to it Andy.

Can you make leverage your friend? Put a pipe on the end of your breaker bar? It will be better to use a 6 pt socket instead of a 12.

yeah Im gonna try all of this, where there is a will there is a way :good: I will get it on there. (I hope) lol

When i had trouble taking off a suspension bolt. I went to a alignment shop gave the guy 10bucks and he loosened it less than a minute. It took me hrs plus i had rounded the head. Friendly advice to you (dont make it worse) I recently bought a torch i wish i had it back then

Can anyone link me to what Carbon Fiber wrap to use in my FX?

I heard Hexis and Di Noc is good. I want black. I need enough to do some interior stuff, possibly headlights, stuff like that.

Thanks!

I think zebra can help you out with that

I used DiNoc on my interior and my exterior mirrors. No peeling so far and allows good molding/stretching.

No fading, it looks pretty much the same way it did on day one. I condition it on regular basis, especially during the hot summer days. The only thing is, that I was moving my trash cans and somehow scuffed one of the mirrors and the scuff is not going away, so will be rewrapping the mirror again. But no peeling or anything and I wash my FX quite often.
