The Random Question Thread

Anyone else notice some dirt in the bottom of their s-matic jug after pouring it into the dipstick thing? I looked in their to see if it all came out and saw a couple spots. Checked each bottle after, and they all had it.

Anyone removed the water pump cover and belt tensioner cover before? They are the two black potato shaped covers on the front and are help on by bolts and liquidi gasket which is a PITA!

I noticed the drawing showed 2 clamps, one at the radiator cap connection and one at the reservoir connection, which I thought was interesting because I only have one at the radiator cap. I double checked 2007 since I selected 2004 when looking it up for your year, and noticed it said only 1 clamp needed, but said 2 needed for 2004. I don't know if the tank spout design was changed to hold the hose or what exactly.

I should be able to use the clamps I already have on my current hose correct?

Yeah I would think so as long as they still hold tightly. It looked like mine had dug into the hose, so it should hold even better on a new hose, unless the indention is built in.

Okay, I will try new hose with old clamps. Thanks again for the help.

Dumb question:
Do we change the ATF fluid even if we have an RWD vehicle?

Yes. You just don't need to worry about the additional parts used for the all-wheel-drive system.

Will the ballast from a 2004 Murano SL fit and match the OEM ballast in a 04' FX35? I believe it will as it says bi-xenon. Just want to double check before I purchase.

For the drain plug? It's a crush washer I believe. I've been too lazy to replace mine, but it's never leaked and has come off about 5 times now.

It's the same as the oil crush washer. I noticed my oil drain plug seemed to have a tiny leak not too long ago, so I'm changing mine at least every now and then, as opposed to having not done it in years. I picked up 5 when I got ATF and other parts since they are like 40 cents each.
