The problem is, if it's going to be Canada, it'll be about a year later, not this summer.. Anyways, we'll see..

Btw, don't do Vortech:
YouTube - What a g35 Sounds like with a Vortech Supercharger

You got a nice sounding fx now, don't mess it with the clunky rattle (IMO of course)

haha yea, i actually dont mind the sound of the vortech, all the vids ive heard were with the hood up but im sure with the hood down it will be somewhat quieter, but as long as its nothing like the stillen whine im cool with it. the bypass valve sounds pretty cool too.

that is a check valve that closes when the engine is turned off to prevent oil from backing up into the oil return line and eventually into the turbo

What happens if it's defective (or clogged)? I have two of them. One was defective, replaced by previous user, the other is the newer one..

oil will back up into the turbo and cause lots of smoke when the oil burns off during start-up

nice, that was exactly what the previous owner told me.. it wouldn't create any problems though, I believe and good thing he got it replaced.. Thanks!

What's up Vinh!!!! drsifu is a G driver with an APS ST, good man to talk to about the APS.

I figured from his first reply.. Nice to have you here.. Get used to me as if I can stay here I'll mess up your mind with tons of questions

I've heard some loud and some not so loud Vortechs. It's a good set up though, a little less complications for install and maintenance.

dude...spent 5 mintues typing why you should stay away from APS ST and i gett logged out?

anyone know why i get logged out so quickly?

anyways, APS has bad customer service and their ST kit requires other APS products to work well, such as the APS downpipe with external wastegate and APS exhaust.

even than, you have the issue with the location of the turbo and the requirement of an oil return pump

plus, i've been told from an authorized APS shop, that APS turbos have been prone to failure.

APS basically buys off the shelf Garrett turbos and modifies them. When the turbo gets put back together, it's really hit and miss on how well it was done.

Try clicking "remember me" when you log in, or log in from the homepage where it is already clicked. After a certain amount of time of inactivity you will get logged out.

Also, only click remember me on computers you trust and not public computers, or if on a public computer click "log out" when finished.

Thanks for the warning. I thought the full kit had the oil return pump in it and I believe I saw it in the parts I received.. I'll also get some custom work done to get it fit on my AWD as well as the downpipe to get it fit good to the oem midpipe.

Did you purchase the full kit? Do you see any potential problems/weak points other than the turbo and the customer service? The guy I got it from seemed like a honest one but who knows really..

thx....so far i've been kept logged on.

i bought the full kit. the crossover pipe on my kit had to be repaired at my cost due to a leak. the oil return pump had to be replaced once by APS.

the oem midpipe might be a problem. i don't know the FX real well, but you need a free flowing exhaust to make this kit work. You'll have the same issues everyone with the kit has, boost dropping as the car reaches redline.

and of course, APS will first recommend you to get their 2.5" True Dual Exhaust. Once you get that and everything works, than perfect. If not, APS will tell you that you need there downpipe with external wastegate to control boost and keep it steady all the way to redline.

though the APS ST is a complete kit that will allow the buyer to boost out of the box, it will not work to its potential without other expensive parts.

i went from 314 rWHP / 340 ft/lb to 370 / 380 (might be 360/370) after going to the APS downpipe with the integrated external wastegate (same boost pressure). before this, my boost would begin tapering from 8 lbs down to 2 lbs or so as the car reached redline.

since i've dug myself a deep grave, no point in me turning back. if you still have the option, turn back and go another route.

anytime you go turbo, invest the money the first time and do it right. there's still no guarantee you won't have problems, but the percentages will decrease.
