Taking off front grill?

Does anyone have a diy to take off the front grill? I'm having mine painted tommorow but it would be much easier if someone showed me how to take it off, thanks :top:

ya i thought so too, hopefully they chime in soon enough as i am dropping my fx tommorow lol

The way I do it is take off the top plastic pop rivets and yank the grille off towards you.
or if you want to do it the proper way - remove the rivets on top and if you look at the corners of the face of the grill you will see 4 square plastic things with a flat head slot on them..rotate these and the grille should slide off.

how about the infiniti logo, should i just mask it off good or take it off with a heat gun??

def take the emblem off, most times just lift it off with a screwdriver but gotta be carefull not to make marks where visable on the emblem. don't even bother if your just going to paint around it, it'll look like ass & start peeling there too


removing the grille is very easy, top clips: pop the centers up a bit then the whole clip comes out, in the grille got those 4 1/4 turn flat head's or you can just pull them out too like jeff said, at the bottom of the 06 up grilles there are 2 more locking tabs that you can just reach in from the top & slide foward... it's easy once you get the top clips out you'll figure it out

Question, may sound silly but is the emblem on the grill removable without leaving a huge gap?

Nope, when you remove the emblem there will be a backing shaped like the emblem.

Doesn't look good, it will look like somebody stole your emblem. Most people leave the emblem on and paint the whole grille black or all black with a chrome emblem.

It is a custom black color not in the infiniti line. Audi phantom Black.
