Stubby Antenna

Got mine done today too...it took 3 different store to find the vacuum cap but it was all worth it:)

In Canada I found mine at Canadian Tire also a multi-pack.

gonna do this asap, the OEM look doesn't bother me much, it's just a pain when washing the car. i go throught the auto once a while and it's really hard for me to unscrew it. i might be too short though :tongue (2):

^great idea, but car is only 2 weeks old, don't wanna mess with the paint yet:tonguey:
but a lot of cars out there are coming color coded matching the body color for the antenna. i think it would look good:tongue (2):

never break this it is like 300 to replace the unit OEM. I got mine snaped off last winter. Cracked the whole housing.

ya the base.

Plus on the FX50 09 infiniti says that you have to remove the entire headliner to replace it. not so. you can just ondo the rear of the headliner and reach your hand in the to undo the nut. way easyer.

^well hopefully i won't be in that situation one day.
just wanted to 'stub' it since i go through the auto car wash from time to time and worrying it break off. PITA to remove and put back on the stock antenna

found a variety pack of the vacuum caps but price was $6 for the whole pack
much better than the white
there was only one size in the whole pack that works.
does not fit snug on the base, hope it won't just 'fly' off after some driving
the others were either too big/small/short

^ Funny post. Wonder how it would look if you body colored it the whole antennae, stub and all......

This is the color matched antennae on my A4. It certainly blends in better...

Much cleaner. I guess if you go so far as to paint it you could buy a sleeker shark fin BMW or Audi style antennae, paint it and drop that on.
