Steering shake with spacer

BTW I forgot to mention...I am running the stock 21" wheels...they are just powdercoated...so if I didn't have the shaking before...then wouldn't it be either the Spacers or H&R Springs ?

The springs have nothing to do with it. Are your spacers hubcentric?

I know...that's why I'm so confused ! Yes...the spacers are hubcentric...they are Ichiba...20mm. So H&R Springs, stock wheels and Hubcentric Ichiba spacers...what went wrong ???

It might be your tires, your dropped on H&rs and 2nd gen as you may know have a horroble camber wear. Your tires might be worn from the inner side. This willl cause vibration due to uneven tire wear

Did you powdercoat the wheels and install the spacers at the same time? Tires came off for powdercoating, they may not have been balanced properly when reinstalled. Hub-Centric spacers won't cause steering wheel shake, they'll just amplify any problems you already have. Springs have nothing to do with shake. Even tightening the steering rack doesn't fix the root cause of the shake, it just results in less of it being transmitted to you. Either your tires are not balanced, your wheels are damaged, or your spacers are installed wrong. Since your car is so new, I doubt it's anything like the bearings.

OK so I got the Roadforce done...$ 106 later it's determined that my wheels are perfect but the they DO see a wobble. They didn't have time to do more tests (nor did I really want them to at this price $$$) so from what I can tell it's the interaction between the spacers and the wheels. Ironically enough, I feel after driving it the last couple days that roughly 90% of the vibration is gone...so it must have been the way they were mounted. I'll be getting a tire rotation soon (do I even need one with an AWD ?) so I can make sure to indicate to them that everything needs to be cleaned and tightened very evenly as that SEEMS to have been the issue from the original tire shop that I had put them on...

You can rotate AWD, all the tires are the same size. It's RWD with staggered tires that you cannot rotate.

This started happening to me .......shaking as soon as I hit 60...as far as I know I'm running the most spacer around 33mm in then rear ill update you guys when it gets fixed.

Did happen right after the spacer install? Or was it fine for a while and then started? Tire wear has a huge impact on the shake. The spacer just magnifies that.

Just put on brand new tires but there was no shake with the old tires ....will soon get an Alignment and balance the wheels again and remove and reinstall the spacers ... Hopefully it's gone after that.
