SCOTABC FLOOR MATS

Here's the SCOTABC floor mats for the 2003-2008 FX35 & FX45. It took awhile to finally get them due to confusion on the part of SCOTABC between the 1st and 2nd generation layout. These are the first mats of this type to be made and sold for the 1st generation to my knowledge.
I think now that the confusion is cleared up, getting these mats in a timely manner won't be an issue. In my opinion, they are under priced. The fit is damn near perfect right out of the package. I'll apply a little heat with a blow dryer if needed to help them conform in a couple spots. There are some wrinkles here and bumps there, all from the shipping process, but they should relax. I love these mats.
They have built-in fasteners on the underside along the edges which aren't visible when installed. These tabs slip underneath the adjacent panels that the mat butts up against which keeps them locked in place. Great idea. I do wish there was one of these added on the driver side, in the photo below that shows my index finger pressing the mat in place. There's also a velcro-like material that covers 100% of the bottom of all mats that locks them in place. I'll let SCOTABC know about this area and hopefully they can start adding one here from this point forward. I'll figure something out myself to correct this, no big deal.
The mats are extended to tuck under and around the seats and they conform to the ebbs and flows of the floors shape really well. They feel good and seem to be very durable but I suppose only time will tell. Frankly, I'm going to start treating the FX like I do my home and take my shoes off before getting in. Ha! Actually, for a long drive I always have taken my shoes off and now my feet will be much more comfortable on these mats vs the Infiniti rubber ridged mats. Did I say I love these mats?
They weigh approx 5 lbs as compared to the concrete-like rubber Infiniti mats that weigh 14 lbs and the original carpeted Infiniti mats that weigh 12 lbs. I like to keep my FX meticulous, it's a curse, and I can already tell these will be much easier to keep clean. The only high wear area I'd be worried about is where the mats get all the heel action from accelerating and braking, but there's a hard plastic plate there to combat this.
I think the photos speak for themselves but hopefully my review helps ya'll out.

And here's the rears. I'm still waiting on the cargo mats and should have them soon and when I do, I'll add them here on this thread.
Like the fronts, the rears are cupped which I assume is going to keep water contained within the confines of the mats and not all over the carpet. Nice. The rears fit just as well as the fronts and the only issue is right on top of the center hump where they butt up against the back seat. There's enough material there but it might need a little help (heat) to conform.
Edit - I went ahead and used a small blow dryer, heated up the material in the various areas and held it in place while it cooled back down. That got them to settle right in and the area at the rear seats on top of the center hump fits well.
They're made of vinyl and when heated become very malleable making it easy to get them to conform if needed. They appear to be too posh to be a durable floor mat but they feel pretty fuckin tough. The velcro-like backing and diamond styled stitching adds to the rigidity.

Here are some final photos until the cargo mats arrive. All the issues that I had between getting the right mats for the 1st gen. to the shipping problems wore me out and I got a little frustrated but the people at scotabc stayed professional and made it right. Some of the best customer service I've ever experienced and in the end, it was worth it.

I know. They really do a great job. Yeah, you'll probably get'em pretty fast.

I got an email today from SCOTABC and they are adding a fastener to the area on the drivers side as seen in the photo's above where the center console has a strong curve.
I took a couple close ups also so you can see the level of detail and quality of the stitching. These mats are multiple pieces sewn together as you can see in the photos below and that's what allows them to conform to the shape of the floor so well.

Thought I'd throw these photos up also of the guys over at SCOTABC trial fitting and perfecting the mats for our FX's. Pretty cool. They use a 3d cad type of design equipment. Not too familiar with it myself but I suppose it's similar to what weathertech uses. It's got to be a little more involved and complex though, as there's clearly a lot more to these mats than there is with the weathertechs.
I'd also like to mention that I've got no skin in this game. They gave me my mats for free because they are clearly honest businessmen and after having sent me what they thought were the right mats, they did the right thing and hooked me up which is exactly what I would do if I were on the other side.
I've put a bit of time into this review because; A. I love the mats and would pay double what they charge for them 2. I appreciate their business practice and outstanding customer service and D. for the rest of ya'll mugs that might like to pick up these bad boys but don't want to throw good $ at something that may/may not pan out.

Got the cargo mats yesterday. Scotabc rolled'em up as I hoped they would but they ended up getting crushed a bit in shipping so I've got them sprawled out on the floor to let'em relax. I think they should send them rolled and in a box. We'll see how they look installed tomorrow.

Here's the cargo mats. All things considered, they're great, but there are a few issues.
One, the cargo light cut-out is off. I don't see how I could make anymore adjustments to get the cut-out and light to line up. It looks a little jacked up too. I'm thinking someone was hittin the bottle when they attempted to stitch this one up.
Two, the mats that attach to the back seats, well, they don't attach. There's no pre-installed velcro on the mats that cover the panels that fold down when dropping the seats forward (these mats are attached to the large, primary mat) and all the extra velcro that you see below wound up, it's all the soft side. There's none of the sticky, rough type of velco needed for this. The top right corner of the driver side seat is missing a velcro piece as well.
Three, in general, the fit isn't 99% perfect like the front and rear seat mats. It's a good fit, just not quite perfect. Consider I removed the unreasonably heavy cargo top and if it were still in place, the main large mat might fit better but all these issues would still be valid.

I'll let these things settle in for a few days, apply some heat to help shape them a little bit and address the missing velcro issues. Not a big deal. I'd prefer that the cargo light not be cut out at all. Can't remember ever using that and wouldn't miss it.
On a scale of 1-100, I'd give the front and rear seat mats a 99 and the cargo mats a 90 and I'm a pretty picky mo fo.
IMO, these are the best choice for the 1st gen fx regarding floor mats or even in lieu of carpet replacement. I'm glad I finally got'em and went through a lot of shit, but it was worth it. I'll throw up a few more photos in a few days when I have the bugs worked out.

I bought a small box of some good sticky velcro from Lowes and ran a strip across the top of both panels that install on the backs of both rear seats. Good to go now.
SCOTABC is aware of the "jacked-up cargo light cut-out", so I don't think it'll be an issue anymore. I'll repeat what I said somewhere above, and that is I removed the support tray, that big beefy panel that covers the spare tire, etc. awhile back so the main cargo mat is going to fit even better if ya'll still have yours in place.

Am I the only 1st gen FX that has these mats? Anybody? Nobody? Hello...echo...echo...echo... Damn, I hope the maker sold some after all they did to get me mine.
I sold my oem rubber mats for $50, sold the scotabc mats they sent to me that were for the 2nd gen for $150 iirc and got these for free. ;)
