Son of a bish!!! Amazon did send me the wrong belt. they sent me the 60465 also, which is too big of course since I don't have the extra idler pulley. I think this means Gates website, and Amazon's is wrong. :mad.:

Anyone know the part number for the larger belt that is a little shorter?

NVM, I found it by looking it up for 2008. Fuggin' Gates' website is off. Correct number is K060450, which is a tad bit shorter.

Just make sure there isn't a lot of grease and dirt around. I used Goodyear Gatorbacks from Amazon. Changed them at 100K. If they squeal on start up, just tighten them another half turn. Don't change the idlers (like I did...).

Has anyone created a DIY for changing the belts? If so at what mileage should you change them? I remember going to Infiniti Dealer and them telling me they need to be changed and then a few months later i went for an oil change and they said everything is fine.

You can usually look at the belts and see if they have cracks in them. I know there are DIY's on here because I've read them. The info is in some thread, probably linked in this thread.

It took less than 10 minutes to do. You don't have to pull the bottom cover it's pretty easy to do from the top. Just loosen the two tensioner pully center bolts a little then back out the adjuster bolts directly under the tensioner pulleys. Swap out the belts and tighten tensioner bolts till you can only twist the belt by hand about a quarter turn then tighten center bolts of tensioner pulleys. You don't want to over tighten them or you could cause bearing damage to one of the components run by the belts.
If either belt squeels repeat adjustment by loosening center bolt and tightening tensioner bolt just a little more.

Bummed that I just saw this thread cuz I'm sitting at Orlando Infiniti to pick up my car from routine 60k service.

And I've rebuilt an engine too, so its not like it's foreign territory. Chalk one up for laziness. Next time I'm tackling this!

Wish I had seen this post earlier. Just had my car in to replace the dash and they recommended replacing the drive belts and battery. I declined the battery change as I've done many before, but they tried to trick me into doing it by saying that they needed ton reprogram the car once the battery was pulled. They guy tried to tell me that I would have to reprogram stuff like the one click windows and stuff and they normally charge $65 to do it. I should have declined the belt change after that bs but gave him the benefit of doubt on that one. Anyway, just a little disappointed that this crap still goes on. At least the dash looks nice!
