Replacement Bulbs

my right side headlight webt out, i thought it was the morimoto bulb so i switched to oe and still didnt work. After i hardwired an aftermarket ballast and boom it worked but now the right side headlight is bluer than my left side (both running morimotos) im just shocked. Did the aftermarket ballast make it bluer?

Different wattage? The stock is 35W

RIP, thanks for posting the 6000K pic. They looks really good from here. :good:

Andy if you like 6000k and want true 6000k color go with Garax. They are made by a company called MTEC in Japan and I have them on my FX and love them. Everyone on the mercedes forums and Lexus forums has them and that's how I found out about them. I been using them for years now and I have them on my Lexus and my mother has them on her mercedes. They are around $80-100 and are true to color, not like cheap bulbs that look too blue. These are very white with a hint of blue.

Rip if I may kindly ask ...... when looking fora Garax 6k bulb I only seem to see d4s or d4r bulbs ?? Arent our FX low beams d2s bulbs or there are garax 6k d2s bulbs out there ? TIA :)

It's weird that "Garax" doesn't even have the website. There are no information on that brand. I don't even think than they are made in Japan, probably another company that is based in China or smth with fancy name and price tag like "Morimoto" IMO.

Yeah they don't have a website because they are made by a company called mtec karamoto inc, (kspec) in Tokyo Japan. Only a few people sell them including ijdmtoy.com and that seller on eBay.

Here is the Japanese website, they have no US website.

Don't get me wrong, but I still don't get why they cost so much. They don't even have any ISO certification.

Is ISO certification only in the USA?
I just know that I have been using these bulbs for years as well as my friends and fam no one has had any issues or problems. Def better than those cheap bulbs you get off eBay and DDM.

Nope, it's global. I think it's on volunteer basis too:smile (2):. I know that there are many Asian company's out there that have ISO Certificates.

Oh I see, thanks for the info bro. I see what your saying though about the price especially comparing to when you can get morimoto's for around $45. I just never had morimoto's before, have to check them out, but as of now I'm sticking with Garax lol

any suggestions on new HID replacement bulbs? I have stock D2S now...hard to see in the rain and the beam visibilty not that far. Are the stocks 4300k? Also, have you guys replaced rear backup lights. Sometimes I cant see on camera when its really dark outside. thanks

I replaced my back up light with bright white LED bulbs with a 360 degree pattern and it seems to help clear things up in the rear at night for me. I believe that the stock HID bulbs are more in the 5-6K area. My stock HID's have a purple hue to it.
