Replacement Bulbs

any suggestions on new HID replacement bulbs? I have stock D2S now...hard to see in the rain and the beam visibilty not that far. Are the stocks 4300k? Also, have you guys replaced rear backup lights. Sometimes I cant see on camera when its really dark outside. thanks
 
Philips, Morimoto, or Osram bulbs are good.
I use LED bulbs for my reverse lights.. some have gone as far as placing HIDs as their reverse lights.
 
yes stock is 4300k, also you can adjust height/angle of the lights from the inside next to your telescopic steering wheel or outside under the hood on top kf the headlights with a screwdriver

I'm still up in the air whether or not I should get these for close to $200 a pair ? I know its got great reviews but I may just get the below Morimotos instead for just about $ 50 a pair ?? Decisions , decisions ....... decisions ???

5K is still much brighter than OEM. 6K would still be bright white. Maybe a little too bright for the guy ahead of you at night but there are some here who runs them. I have 6k on my fogs and they really are very bright.

I have the Osram 5000K CBI bulbs in my stock (completely stock) headlight for about 10 hours now. I believe it needs about 60 burn-in hours to show its full potential. I really hope it does perform better then the DDM 6000K that I used to run with. Let tell ya, coming from 6000K, it takes a lot of getting used to the 5000K. Particularly for now, there just too much yellow and brightness is not much better then stock out put.

So you're more of a fan of 6000k for now or at least until you burn another 50 hours to see what it's full potential is ?? I figured that if I'm going to switch out bulbs and there's minimal difference between 4300k to 5000k why bother ?? Might as well make it much more noticeable by going 6000k though I really don't want any hint of blue but more white , white :smile (2):

The Osrams are the best bulbs out but I'm a huge fan of 6000k like you are and that's one reason I didn't get them. From the many pictures and videos I have seen even after burn in time they still look yellow.

I guess, I want to experience what makes this bulbs so good. :laugh: I have a sneaky feeling that I will go back to 6000K.
 
Wow... well then, 45beast. If you're looking for 6000K bulbs, then Osrams are out of the question. Lol
 
If you want a hint of blue go with the 6000 if not then go with 5000 that is PURE white.

If you don't want any hint of yellow in 5000 or 6000, then you need to change your headlight lens.

Andy if you like 6000k and want true 6000k color go with Garax. They are made by a company called MTEC in Japan and I have them on my FX and love them. Everyone on the mercedes forums and Lexus forums has them and that's how I found out about them. I been using them for years now and I have them on my Lexus and my mother has them on her mercedes. They are around $80-100 and are true to color, not like cheap bulbs that look too blue. These are very white with a hint of blue.
