Renegade Body-Kits

no interest in paying for installation and the paint on top of that lol. i guess for some people its worth it.

+1, plus I do not want my Infiniti to look like a Storm Trooper.... :smile (2):

The red one looks better. Anyone notice the crazy headlights? Looked like a Q projector retrofit. Could use better wheels than Vossens, but other than that, looks nice.

I would have thought with the ruble being so weak these days, the price of the kits would be lower. But $8.5K for that many pieces isn't bad, especially for a low volume product.

I'm actually looking forward to seeing someone go this route. We have limited options to pursue when it comes to making each of our second generation FXs uniquely stand out in the IS crowd, and while this particular kit is more aggressive than most, I think it has the potential to be one of the more visually striking mods once people start exploring different custom wheel/paint combinations.

Sooner or later someone is going to pick one up. I guarantee it's going to be turning heads.

I said 11-13k for the kit including paint, that is a range of $3500 to $5500, just to bolt on a body kit and re-spray half a car. That's a lot more than a Maaco Paint job there buddy.

And an akebono BBK is not "skimping".

Either way fine lets go with your assumption of 20k. THere are countless people on this very forum who have that much invested into their FX'es. So why you seem to think that the price tag is too rich for the people on this side of the pond is beyond me.

I think what your really trying to say is that you think it isn't worth it, or that you're too cheap to pay for it. Don't lump the rest of us in there with you...

you meant $2500 to $4500? anyway, don't get it twisted there buddy. this renegade kit has been out for over 2 years and do you see anyone over here with it? it's simply not worth it as an appearance mod. i have a 600-hp "money pit" parking next to the fx in the garage. so like the countless others, i chose to focus my mod $$ on the go and not on the look. the statement about re-spraying half a car with this kit tells me your experience with paint and body. guess there's no need to color blend between dissimilar body panels with a cheaper paintjob...

First off, there are tons of people on here who have spent fortunes on show not go mods. So that argument is bullshit, also the reason you havnt seen any of these kits over here is because previously the kit costed upwards of 20k, which is completely ridiculous. But at 8.5k the price is completely reasonable, that's below the price of any Varis, liberty walk, etc. body kit.

As for paint, Yes you will have to blend the doors, but pretty much every other panel aside from the roof is getting replaced. And since those are brand new components there is little to no prep on them. It's prep work which makes painting a car expensive, actually spraying the car takes no time at all, and costs very little.

Go get a quote from any regular body shop if they quote you more than 5k to paint this kit they are ripping you off.

The 11k in my example was for wrapping the car, you can buy the kit for 8.5 and get the car wrapped and put back together for 3k easy.

Also keep in mind there are plenty of people on here who are currently spending anywhere from 3-5k on the OEM bodykit, so for only an extra 6000ish they can have this full custom body kit.

We get it, it's not for you, but christ you are going to an extreme extent just to hate on the kit.

lol, i'm not hating the kit but it's obvious from the thread that not everyone is feeling every aspects of it. i gave my opinion and you gave yours so why getting butthurt and going out of your way to twist a renegade wbk discussion into a mods argument? it has been established that we all have and will continue to spend crazy money on mods. the point is will some individual over here pull the trigger on this renegade kit?

my $15K est was based on my experience and you had yours. how do you know that the fiberglass kit will fit well? what if the owner wants to have the fender flares molded onto the fenders for a cleaner look? repainting a stock fx to oem level will run $4-5K easy let alone adding the prep labors and accent color for the kit. i think there's a thread on here about the cost of repaint by members who are also in the biz. look it up and you'll see that your est is rather on the low side.

anywho, just to stay subjective on the discussion of this wbk, folks will unlikely spend $8.5k to get it. for that kind of money, they would go or have already gone custom to get the exact look they
want.

OMG you must be dense, or something. You are the one that first brought other mods into this thread:

then ya got to drop at least $10k to get some new shoes and bbk/coilover to go wit it. way too rich for any fxers on this side of the pond...

This is getting us nowhere, you claim the kit is too rich for people over here, when in reality if something like this was available for my first gen I would have bought it already.

Mark my words there will be 2nd gens running around with this kit within the next couple years on this side of the world.

Every time I see this thread at the top of the homepage, I pray it's something interesting about the kit.

Nope. Again. Again. Again.

I ordered the kit yesterday, can hardly wait to get it.:marchmellow:

Shut up. You are a liar.

Please don't be lying, please don't be lying...

Yup, I am, I am, I was only joshing. I couldn't help myself.

I agree with you though, time to stop the bickering and enjoy the site, and I do like that kit in Red.

Your joke is the most on topic this thread has been in days.

you must be delusional then since you don't even realize what you did. i gave my opinion about the cost of this specific kit, the subsequent mods used to pull it off and the probability of someone here will go through with it. don’t like it? fine, but don't twist my comment into one that said no one here will ever spend that kind of money on mods. if you like it so much then trade up to a 2nd gen and get the kit. i'll donate $1k to a charity of your choice if you did that…within two years ;) anywho, i'm done arguing with you since we can go on for weeks and we know what they say about arguing online…

^^^^^^^ Why not give this a break, enough bantering already. You both expressed your opinions and now let it lie,,,,,,please.

I ll buy it and am interested in this kit since long time ago, not rich ( not necessary to be rich to buy such, just to be crazy enough) so need to prepare budget in the coming three months. I like to keep my car and do some changes like if I bought a new one.

Hopefully by Sep ll be posting pics to my car new look [emoji16][emoji12]
