I said 11-13k for the kit including paint, that is a range of $3500 to $5500, just to bolt on a body kit and re-spray half a car. That's a lot more than a Maaco Paint job there buddy.
And an akebono BBK is not "skimping".
Either way fine lets go with your assumption of 20k. THere are countless people on this very forum who have that much invested into their FX'es. So why you seem to think that the price tag is too rich for the people on this side of the pond is beyond me.
I think what your really trying to say is that you think it isn't worth it, or that you're too cheap to pay for it. Don't lump the rest of us in there with you...
you meant $2500 to $4500? anyway, don't get it twisted there buddy. this renegade kit has been out for over 2 years and do you see anyone over here with it? it's simply not worth it as an appearance mod. i have a 600-hp "money pit" parking next to the fx in the garage. so like the countless others, i chose to focus my mod $$ on the go and not on the look. the statement about re-spraying half a car with this kit tells me your experience with paint and body. guess there's no need to color blend between dissimilar body panels with a cheaper paintjob...
way too rich for any fxers on this side of the pond...
First off, there are tons of people on here who have spent fortunes on show not go mods. So that argument is bullshit, also the reason you havnt seen any of these kits over here is because previously the kit costed upwards of 20k, which is completely ridiculous. But at 8.5k the price is completely reasonable, that's below the price of any Varis, liberty walk, etc. body kit.
As for paint, Yes you will have to blend the doors, but pretty much every other panel aside from the roof is getting replaced. And since those are brand new components there is little to no prep on them. It's prep work which makes painting a car expensive, actually spraying the car takes no time at all, and costs very little.
Go get a quote from any regular body shop if they quote you more than 5k to paint this kit they are ripping you off.
The 11k in my example was for wrapping the car, you can buy the kit for 8.5 and get the car wrapped and put back together for 3k easy.
Also keep in mind there are plenty of people on here who are currently spending anywhere from 3-5k on the OEM bodykit, so for only an extra 6000ish they can have this full custom body kit.
We get it, it's not for you, but christ you are going to an extreme extent just to hate on the kit.
why getting butthurt and going out of your way to twist a renegade wbk discussion into a mods argument?
then ya got to drop at least $10k to get some new shoes and bbk/coilover to go wit it. way too rich for any fxers on this side of the pond...
Every time I see this thread at the top of the homepage, I pray it's something interesting about the kit.
Nope. Again. Again. Again.
Yup, I am, I am, I was only joshing. I couldn't help myself.Shut up. You are a liar.
Please don't be lying, please don't be lying...

OMG you must be dense, or something. You are the one that first brought other mods into this thread:
This is getting us nowhere, you claim the kit is too rich for people over here, when in reality if something like this was available for my first gen I would have bought it already.
Mark my words there will be 2nd gens running around with this kit within the next couple years on this side of the world.
