Rear Sway Bar install

I did not know an AWD FX35 came with the rear sway bat standard. You may want to look under the rear of the fx as you can clearly see it from there.

I believe all AWD models came with it

has anyone done a write up on this? (maybe simple enough, I can figure it out) Anyways I am getting price quotes from infinitpartsusa.com and they quoted me $187.45, is that a good price?

*is this all the parts needed? Also getting the rear GTSPEC bars this month when they arrive!

thanks

I got the GT SPEC RSB installed and i have noticed a big difference. would it be wise to also get the stock RSB for the AWD FX35 or am i fine with the setup i got already?

when you say "stock RSB" did you mean the swaybar? if so I am in the same boat per say. I am getting the GTSPEC rears and also contemplating on getting the rear swaybar. I have read here and at the org that this combination is great. Maybe someone here that has both can chime in on the benefits of the swaybar in addtion to the braces... or if one is enough ( I highly doubt people will say one is all you need ) For the money I think its not too bad. If it was like $400 - $500 , thats harder to justify

there 2 different things, the anti sway bar helps resist body roll while the gtspec bars help resist chassis flex. if you had to choose just one I'd choose the swaybar but after that adding the gtspec bars will help too

I would call Joe and let him get all the parts you need for the install. He know exacly whats needed. -Joe

The oem awd rear sway made a noticeable difference in stiffening up the rear but nothing like the GTSpec braces. The GTSpec braces made a big time difference, very very noticeable.

Agree. Sway bar would be priority 1, & I noticed a pretty huge difference
Still I wonder why it doesnt come with one standard :err:

$256 shipped from IPUSA was the price I just paid. Certainly has gone up a little bit. Beats the $423 my local dealer quoted me though!

No they are a great dealership, just their pricing system is weird. I think in person it's more than online. I bet if I priced it out on their online parts site, it would only be around $300 at most. I know another Dallas member went to buy clear tails from the dealership because they were cheap online, but was quote a different price in person.

I love resurrecting old threads.

Thought I would post up that I just installed the rear sway bar in my 2003 Silver RWD FX and it has eliminated the, "FX hop". I had almost forgotten about that suspension gremlin! Driving down bumpy or uneven roads, the rear end of the FX seems to want to hop sideways sometimes.

I'm lowered on BCs and have the rear subframe brace and Strut Tower Brace from GTSpec. The rear sway bar made the most difference in feel by far - anybody with a RWD should make this mod before installing any of the braces - this is much more effective... and cheaper compared to most of the aftermarket braces.

Yeah, I love it. Except I noticed the mounting bolts were loose, and one had actually fallen out. I think it was just because I couldn't tighten them fully with the cramped work area.
