Had a friend drive my fx today while I drove his ride...I have to say seeing the fx being driven next to you makes you realize how gorgeous of a ride it actually is.

Transformation in progress...

Awesome!! What color is that? I was thinking of wrapping my fx in a similar color...I'm hesitant because I don't think I'll be able to do a good job, and I don't have the cash to pay a shop to do it, lol.

On another note, plastidipped rims:

The color is called "Moonlight Blue Metallic" - it has a satin finish. I love it. At night it's almost black. When it's sunny, it sparkles between navy blue and dark purple. When it's overcast, the color is dark blue. It's a very 'moody' color. As for not doing a good job, this is my first full car. I've done numerous hoods and roofs before. However, I found that this specific vinyl is very easy to work with. It has microscopic pores which allow air to exit if you have bubbles. Heat fixes all the creases. Really, there is nothing to worry about if you have the patience and if you are decent with an exact knife.

Who is the vinyl made by?

The brand is Oracal. I was debating between 3m and Oracal but a lot of vinyl shops are quite impressed with the Rapid Air tech on this specific vinyl - so I just decided to go with that.

Yeah I was looking at that same color for my fx too. It's an amazing color! I've wrapped a few roofs (with Oracal gloss black vinyl) before but nothing on the scale of a whole vehicle. How much vinyl was needed for the whole car?

Not sure how much vinyl is required for the entire car since I only bought for the sides, front, and back. Roof, hood, and mirrors are carbon fiber at this point. Also, I am pretty conservative when it comes to vinyl cutting and consolidate as many panels per sheet as possible. I bought 5'x45' and so far it looks like it will be enough.

I believe there is a thread somewhere on the forum of a candy blue, Hexis vinyl wrap by Rookie (?). That thread contains measurements for the entire car.

Edit:

It's actually Zebra - measurements are somewhere in the thread: https://www.infinitiscene.com/searc...in-Blue-Metallic-Vinyl-with-3M-Carbon-Accents

25 yards will cover an entire vehicle. You will absolutely need a 60" roll, any width less than that and you will be stitching for panels, and it will look like shit.

I bought 35+ yards, and I have so much material left over I can wrap another vehicle...lol

3m, Hexis (Zebra's vehicle) , Oracal, Avery (My vehicle), arlon. < All very reputable brands for vinyl, can't really go wrong with any of them from what I understand.

EDIT: In all honesty, there is three panels on the FX that are difficult, the rest of the car is a breeze. Those three panels are: the hatch, the back bumper, and the front bumper.

You will have to seam the material where the rear fender transitions into the C pillar, other than that all the rest of the panels should be one piece if done correctly.
