RAM Lightweight Aluminum Pulleys

The reason I ask is that I just bought some of your competitors accessory pulleys that are advertised as being "lightweight" and as it turns out the difference, if any, is a few grams. Just curious as to how yours compare to the oem units. Obviously your crank pulley is crazy light so in that case the precision doesn't matter as much. Do you have the numbers for the acc pulleys?

Ok, gotcha.

On to the question about the accessory pulleys. RAM has not delved into manufacturing them yet. I do have a few underdrive sets that happen to resemble UR's pulleys (hmmm wonder why...), those have underdriven cranks and overdriven acc in order to keep things working at the same speed, but with weight savings.

I'm not positive what the applications are for those sets. I know they fit the G and Z with the VQ35DE engine. Not sure about other vehicles with that same engine. These sets will be anodized a special RadioActive PurpL in limited quantities.

Any update on a pulley kit for the VK45? You could make them pink, don't matter to me, I'll still place an order.

Looks like you have to make one for us. Heck I'm buying your intake without seeing it. Is the tube powdercoated pink with hot pink couplers?

You didn't get the privilege of signing the multi-page patent pending disclosure document all of us signed in order to see some metal tubing! ;)

slamming....we all like to pull each other's legs if you haven't noticed by now! hehe

Hi, New here, just happen to read up on this and had to join the IS website. So, bottom line when do we get to buy a set? How would you know which combination set to get? Underdrive or overdrive pulleys? what are the benefits?

It's all good. You guys are a riot, Like lost college brothers or something. Maybe I shouldnt joke, was actually thinking about talking to my machine shop if no one will step up and make a 45 pulley kit happen. Wait, stop. I'm done, not gonna jack this, just thoughts for now. Please get back to us Nate, thanks!

Not sure for the VK guys??? Maybe PM Nate on these for an update since your a 35er. An overdrive Alt. pulley spins the alternater, back up to normal speed after installing an underdrive crank pulley. Crank pulley is bigger, acc pulley is smaller. All would be lighter creating more TQ, HP ect... If you have a SC or blower, you would upgrade with a smaller pulley making it spin faster and creating more boost.

Pricing is $160 for forum members. This pricing is only good until our first batch sells out. MSRP is $225.

Now on to the the VK45 pulleys. I got the go ahead from Tony. What we're offering is a custom part group buy. I'll start another thread with an interest list. We'll get specs and pricing to you guys. Those who are interested will pay a 50% deposit on the parts and the remainder once they're finished.

BTW...I sent the VQ35DE pulley in for balance testing. This is our most massive pulley so it should show the highest out of balance numbers. It was within 1/2 gram :wink:

Nate, what was the final weight? And what is the weight savings vs stock pulley for the 35?

@toy4x

I'm waiting on a shipping scale for completely accurate numbers. If my memory serves. The stock pulley was 6 lbs and this one should be just slightly over 1 lbs.

VK45DE is finally getting products. Thank you Nate. My paypal is ready too.
