QX56 grille on fx?

alright I lived with this grille a few days & it's official, I love it:biggrin: the more I look at it the more I like it, I do think it would look equally good blacked out & I will do another in black, but all the other ideas I had for trying other things with grilles I don't even need to, I found the look I wanted on the first shot:biggrin: been taking a bunch of pictures... I do still need a mint chrome fx grille to redo the outer trim part eventually, you can see the seem is not perfect in the closeup because it wasn't worth the tedious work of getting a perfect edge for the seem with a bezel that will be replaced.

Wow that grille looks really good....awesome!! You can really tell how nice it looks in the closeups. I bet it look 100 times better in person. Also like Psiclne said, nice avatar.:top:

I think I really like the bigger emblem, think ashley said it best, makes the whole fx look smaller in a way as a visual cue, but still looks like it belongs there I think... got a few other grille ideas but been sticking with this one for a while...

cost? well fx grille & qx grille are 3 & change each, then the labor & paint, in the end might be close to a 1k grille, although I doubt most would consider that reasonable I love my 2 piece grille design, I think it fits well & is relatively low key but def changes the look of my fx to a bit unique, but then again kinda looks factory to those that don't know better....
 
:wub:1k..... its defenely an unique cue! and as i said before.. great way to make a statement..
 
since I built this grille I winded up changing wheels, & the new wheels are a bit more sporty & aggressive looking, where this grille kinda has more of a dressy look... now, the grille don't fit so well with the wheels anymore...

also played a bit with extending the front bumper & the rockers a bit in this comp... dropped it slightly too... few ideas for later...

I think I like it as a nice evolution of this grille, what are opinions on this look?
 
simply beautiful, love the badgeless grille, extended bumper, and rocker... clean and sporty.
 
the bumper drop might be a little less than this... I originally wanted to try to fit another grille down there but think it might be a bit too gaudy & overdone...

Looks god John, but I agree the lower grill looks out of place. Also, how about blacking out the top and bottom grill bars and just keep a bit of chrome only in the middle like it is now.
 
+1 on no lower grille. I think badgeless grille is a very nice evolution of what you've already done. And might I add, those wheels are awesome!
 
yeah, the lower grille was just to see what it looked like, not considering actually doing that though.

I tried it with the whole surround blacked & just leaving the chrome buttons, but I think I like it better with the chrome trim around the grille, matches everything else & matches the wheels nicely I think...
