Powdercoat vs Paint

Can you tell me where you had the work done what did it cost you? I'd like to get the pc'd.
I got them done at Union Rim Repair in Mississauga. It was $760 Canadian . That included tire removal, prep, powder coat, tire install and balance. Depending on the powder coat finish, the prices start around $500. Mine cost a lot more because it was a 3 stage process for the Hyper Black.

Powder is lighter than paint so if anything, you'd be more likely to get vibrations with paint. But even then, it's not going to happen. Compared to the overall weight of a wheel, refinishing it won't change the balance. The only thing I've ever heard about powder coat are unsubstantiated claims that on certain wheels, the heat from baking weakens the wheel. The G/Z guys have threads on this, so you can find more info there. But I don't think it's an actual problem.

reviving an old thread.. I've read that you might get some vibrations after powder coating the rims, but you don't get that with paint. Can anyone provide more info on that front?
