I do too. Thats also an option. I don't think anyone has done the upper and lower strips in black chrome yet so that would be a first for the 2nd Generation. It would also keep the stock look of the bar which I want to do.

I think that would look sweet especially with your FX's body color, a nice contrast.

that's exactly how i had mine but turned to satin krylon coz it looked odd in combination with the wheels. GREAT JOB. PROPS.
 
does paint stick on top of the dip??
if so you could really experiment with wheels grills etc before going ahead with paint colors

I dont see why not. Might still have that textury look to it but the dip should not absorb the paint. Maybe Ill try it later on something else and report back
 
The grill looks good! I have the exact same thing. How much does a can of the stuff run? Can you get it at locations in stors?
 
Got mine at Ace's. Home depot has them. Go to their website and they actually list the stores that carry it. Got mine for $8 a can, basically I used more than half the can on the grille and that's with 3 coats (nice and thick) so it's pretty good. One thing I noticed is to clear the nozzle after every coat. The bugger gets dried up quick.
 
I may use this to paint the emblems and rear chrome piece to see if I like how it looks, then will get it painted for real if I like the look...thats really the only application I see being useful. This stuff chips so easily its not worth using it for permanent paint (I understadn you can just spray to fix chips) and idk...just looks cheap.
 
Here's a quick vid I shot of me removing the plastic from the emblem. Super easy. Tge only thing is the parts that did not get a lot of coverage (under the emblem) was harder to remove because of the thin layer

Yes it's a very good visualizer tool. But I disagree that it looks cheap. I like how it looks a lot more than flat black paint. Just my thought
