Painted tail lights

I originally use some circle rings I had laying around. They weren't low tac and that made it hard to get off and paint did get underneath on a few. I just had a friend print out a bunch of low tac stencils for me that I'll pick up in a day or two. I'll do a second set and blackout another pair. Which I will only have the rear LED's showing only. when I'm done I'll post pictures...
 
I recently played with a few by cutting them open & painting them inside, reminds me of yours kinda:smile: for the white reflector I used a red lens behind it & it looks white but you do see red in there too, lights up very red, not pink at all...

Hey John that is pretty Dam good, your lights are a lot better looking them mine. Nice as hell...I painted the outter housing of the red tails. if I ever get my hands on a clear set I'll have to experiment with opening them up and see what I can do. ASh I haven't forgotten you I still own you, for your donation. Nice job John!
 
John, why not go with a red LED in the sides? That way you don't need any red whatsoever as far as the plastic piece goes, and it won't look pink'ish when not illuminated.

dang turbo those look pretty sweet... kinda evil too. I also love the random taillights and headlight project you got in the background

on a side note, if you ever have any clear/tinted red taillights you are getting rid of but are still functional, let me know. I'll be more than happy to take them off your hands for some $
 
I really like the black painted over the red lens like you did, I think if you do a clean job with them the'll look sick. your gonna cover the whole side reflector? you said leave just the leds? maybe you could leave a smaller slot on the side...
