OSRAM D2S bulb help

Thanks Spencer! I appreciate your input.

So i ended up with the OSRAM CBH & 5500K morimoto XB... should be arriving any day now from TRS and got a killer deal on everything. 25 percent off for black Friday so i'm stoked.
Just a heads up if you purchased what i am assuming are the foglight assemblies (morimoto xb led 5500k fogs) be prepared to buy longer screws than the ones provided in the box and also make sure you align both the foglights before closing up the fender liners on both sides of the wheel well. Cuz your probably gonna have to cut out a bit of the plastic to get to the leveling alignment screw. The plastic frame that holds the foglight just barely covers the alignment screw but you will figure it out when you start installing it. If you have any other questions hit me up. Good luck.

They're actually more blue? My OSRAM XENARC 66240 CBH 6000k are more purple and don't match the Phillips 6k fogs and osram led marker lamps which are more of an aqua blue whatsoever but my fogs and markers match... I'm so dissapointed it gets me nervous!

I can confirm if your looking for the modern look and you want your foglights and headlights to match as close as possible and or want the brightest light output i suggest getting the OSRAM CBB D2S 7000k (got mine on amazon for $119-125$) they are genuine and you are provided with a genuine code to check on the osram website. Yes its 7000k but thats a gimmick that osram has with their branding. In reality its a pure white 6000k with the slightest hint of blue. I matched them with the morimoto XB led 5500k foglights (10 year warranty from TRS for 170$) and it is clean and modern and you cant tell the difference. If you are able to see the vid thats my CBB installed. The color will seem to go from yellow to blue to white but i just installed them in the vid but after putting about 50hrs on mine they are now at a pure white with hint of blue color. Also in the picture both the foglights and headlights look white but trust me they are the modern whitish bluish color. I have a 09 fx50s that had the stock original 4300k bulbs and they were too dim so after replacing them it was night and day difference. Goodluck on your decision. Also our 194/168 bulbs do not require canbus. Thats only european cars , bmw , mercs , etc.

That sells it for me - thanks!

How did you align the fog lights? I have the same lights and they are half aligned, half pointing to the sky after they were installed by the shop I used for installation.

Do dealerships have fog light alignment machines...?

I also picked up a set of Osram CBI headlight bulbs and Morimoto XB 3000k HID bulbs for the fog lights on Black Friday. The fog light bulbs haven't come in yet, but I installed the CBI yesterday.

You sure they are genuine bulbs? I just bought the CBH 6000K ones so i hope i don't have that problem.

how many hours do you have on the bulbs? i just read a lot of reviews that they do have a purple hue to it but once broken in they are pure daylight white

Dealerships dont have fog light alignment machines. You have to grab a screw driver and turn the alignment screw on the back of the foglight to align them. Which ever shop you used to have them installed, you need to tell them to realign your foglights then.

Finally got around to getting these in and let me tell you...HUGE difference!

The OSRAM CBH look AMAZING! and go really well with the OSRAM T10 LED bulbs.

My only complaint is my decision to go with the 5500K Fogs. I was contemplating either 5500K or 6500K...should of went with the 6500K i like the cool white look more. the 5500K is deff a pure white but to me looks like you can see some hint of yellow in it which i don't like, i like more of a cool white look with a hint of the blue.

The good thing is the bulbs are pretty cheap only $40 bucks and it will be easy to swap now that the whole kit is installed.

Also, not sure where the guy mounted the ballast but it definitely is interfering with the parking sensors so i need to get under there and move them to a different location.

Other than that i am super happy with the outcome.

Thanks for all your help!

Nice! I'm glad you like the bulbs and fogs. Curious to know where the ballasts are mounted to avoid mounting them in the same place when I attempt the install later on.

Were you ever able to find out where the ballasts were mounted that they were interfering with the parking sensors?

I need to get some good HiD bulbs, one of them I guess burned out. I lobe the Audi headlights wish I could find an output like that

Ok guys so heres my Osram story. I purchased the new CBB hid bulb. Took my QX to a Nissan dealership here locally rather than drive an hour and a half to the Infiniti dealership in Tulsa. Thinking Nissan/Infiniti you know surely these "certified" mechanics can simply change a bulb. And I also called ahead and asked if they could and the service writer said yes no problem.

Long story short, touched and destroyed both new bulbs, broke the AFS motor in the drivers side headlight that turns the light as you turn the steering wheel and cracked the passenger side housing somehow. Then I had to go to the Infiniti Dealership to access the damage.$4300.00 worth. I need both headlights replaced and now Nissan is trying everything not to pay! However they did send me a check for the Osram bulbs.

Ouch! That hurts. Sorry to hear about this. Don't let them off the hook.
I had issues with a dealership before and they were trying to basically screw me over and were not returning my calls or emails. I finally had it and went on Google and gave them a bad review, next day I get a call from the dealership and finally did what they were supposed to do.
These online reviews can be of value to these places, just something you might want to look into it all else fails .
Good luck.

I also recently changed my D2S bulbs myself and realized that the driver side adaptive light adjustment isnt working I was freaking out thinking I damaged it while replacing the bulbs. I was turning my steering wheel left and right but only the passanger side lights were moving with the steering wheel.

well after some search online I found out that the system only works when the car is moving above 15-20 mph. otherwise only one side turns. So I tested it at night while driving and it sure works when the car is moving. I just thought about mentioning it maybe yours isnt damaged after all

Brother I hope thats all it is!! Thanks!

I just bought and installed a set of Osram CBB bulbs from HID CONCEPT. I would not buy something like this off ebay. I have been ripped off there before. In a test, CBB was the brightesy out of 5 others. I am vety happy with the brightness of mine. Was wanting LEDs but went this way.
