Osram CBI 5000K D2S HID Bulbs (The next big thing?)

I'm a bit surprised the osram bulbs are a bit more yellow than the replaced 5k side markers? Do you notice that in person and/or is it due to burn in time they are more yellow than normal?

That's exactly what I was thinking, how many hours roughly have you had these Dwayne?

The yellow your noticing in Dwayne's pictures are not yellow from the bulbs. It's the cutoff light your seeing from our stock projector lens. Unlike Acura Infiniti doesn't use clear lens projectors. A clear lens projector will tend to look more white and show the true color of the bulb. infiniti projectors lens tend to have a slight yellow cutoff.

look at the 200+ pages on the Osram CBI bulbs on HID planet. These bulbs have absolutely no yellow to them when fully burned in. Either they haven't burned in fully or your noticing our terrible cutoff color of the projector lens.

By the way you'll also notice that if you run 5K hid's in the foglights and 5k hid's in the headlights it will never match 100% perfectly. That's because in the headlight the light is being passed through a lens, where as in the fog light the light is actually being bounced back through a reflector shield.

Thanks Aaron for the explanation. I've seen pictures of your ride and from what I remember they all appeared to match from the picture...at least not as much of a contrast.

It will match pretty close. I wish I could upgrade the lens to clear lens projectors looks so much cleaner. I'm just scared at the though of opening up headlights :(

Osram bulbs do not look yellow at all in person my city light are 5k but they look blue more like 6k in person .. the osram should be fully burnt it ,because my lights are always on when I drive the car its actually more white now than when first installed.....am gonna get the city lights that fire has soon.

Yes, this is exactly correct, I have 6000K Philips Ultinon bulbs and when you look at a close range there is a hint of yellow along the cutoff line coming from the projector. If you look at the lights from the front of the car, there is no yellow at all so the yellow hint comes from the projector cut off. I was going to get the Osram bulbs but I love my 6000K philips too much, now that I got a morimoto elite matching 6K kit for them, they look just awesome.

As much as I love the car, the lights seem like they have been just an after thought, why not put a clear projector lens like in Acura or Escalade in the front and proper LED turning/stop lights in the back like in Audi, after all, this is their competition

Nice bro, they look more yellow than white though. I want to get these but I'm a fan of 6000k.

Even with 6K your going to get yellow because of our projector lens + loose light output.

osrams need 60 hours to reach the true color.

Here is a pic of what I'm talking about. Here is the 6K morimoto bulbs I use to have. Notice there still is yellow because of the lens:

Here is a comparison shot courtesy of a member on hid planet. Here is 0 hours on the top vs 20 hours of burn in on the bottom:

you can get an idea of how it will look after a full 60+ hours
