Wow; freakin' A! Incredible, onthemove! Your ride shines like the showroom; can you share your prep, wash, detail, wax regiment?

Thanks Jon.
Right at the bottom of this page is what I did. FX35 - onthemove MOD's
Your's being white would be fairly easy to do if you chose to do a paint correction yourself.
I use Mr. Pink wash from chem. guys. I like it but I don't do this 2 bucket system so many do. I'm in the southeast where there is no shortage of water like in CA, so I rinse & ring between.

Another quick question: your chrome exhaust tips; did you upgrade/replace - or detail/polish them? The ones on my recently purchased CPO '15 QX70 have yellowed interiors/dull chrome; trying to decide whether to attempt to clean/polish, or replace?

I'm digging all the porting work you did to the IMs, did you follow a how-to on those, or did you just grind away yourself? Or did a ship do it?

I put in many hours of research for the intake side from the filter down to the lower plenum and then went at it. There's much more about this on onthemove mod's thread.

I started this thread to have a cleaner version of onthemove MODS. Here's an interior update and a total cost adjustment.
Before and after of the dash area.
interior 1.JPG

Dash recovered in marine vinyl, speakers deleted, head unit replaced with Android tablet and trim plate painted to match the dash, shift boot made out of leather and shift knob wrapped in leather.

Front seats recovered.
img_20201210_210647643-jpg.jpg

Speakers and amp replaced in stock locations and tweeters added.

Wow, so you re-did the whole stereo? Very cool. I did that to both of my cars that came with Bose and H/K stereos and it's no small project. But right now the Bose in the FX is still working and sounds good enough, so I think I'll let it stay. So how big of an improvement did you notice? What's your opinion of that sub? I haven't seen that thing before, it's a good idea. Is this the second time you had the seats recovered?

Yeah, the whole thing. Dash speakers and rear pillar speakers are gone and replaced the powered sub, amp and door speakers.
It was more work than I thought it would be. It took three days and nights but it takes me longer because I'm especially careful not to damage anything while I work.
It's a huge improvement. I was so used to the FX's stock system and when I'm in someone else's car, we're talking, so I never had anything to compare it to until I bought the Sonata beater with an Infinity system which was much better than the Bose in the FX.
The sub is more than I wanted. I'm surprised how well it performs in such a small package. It beats the hell out of everything around it, especially the metal floor pan under it. For now, I've got it tightened as much as possible and on top of some small hand towels to absorb the noise which helps big time but I'm gonna have to find a better solution someday soon. It's an 11" which is about as odd to me as a square sub.
I repainted all the leather after making repairs to the seats a couple years ago. I did have to correct a small repair once, but they held up well. I had to get the FX in the shop for the dash so while it was there I thought I might as well get the seats and shift boot/knob done as well.
