Oil change ..dealer vs jiffy lube?

Holman Infiniti in NJ charged me $20 to change my oil since i bought my own synthetic oil and filter. Worked for me. Local spot charged me $36.
 
I have 24k miles on my 2005 FX35. Should I go synthetic? If so, how often does the oil need to be changed vs. regular oil?

I plan on doing it myself on the next oil change.
 
its' never too early or too late to go synthetic. fully synthetic oils is much more better for your engine. how often to change oil depends on how much you drive. i drive about 900 miles a month so i change my oil every 4 months/4000 miles. if you do highway driving for the most part, you should be good up to 5000 miles.
 
ok. nm, I thought if you go synthetic you don't have to change it as quickly. I guess it's either Mobil or Castrol synthetic?
