**Official Infiniti M37 / M56 / M35h Thread**

I like. Mondo V8, i want to see the manifold used for better top end vs all low end grunt.

I would buy.

I wonder if Metro Infiniti is gonna have a launch party for it like they did for the FX. That was pretty cool. Would be nice to test drive the M56

from pictures and stats only... this is how I see it... (which means it's simply MY opinion)

Other cars in it's class

Japanese:
M56>GS430 (Lexus)
M56>Acura (has NOTHING even remotely close, no RWD/V8 :tdown::tdown:)

Domestic:
M56>CTS (tho the CTS-V would kick it's ass... however, that design does NOT appeal to me at all)

European:
M56>BMW 5 series (the design, I never liked and even if I did... it's getting really old)
M56>MB E-Class (tho, I DO like the new design... but give it 6 months, I'll be over it)
M56>Audi A6 (LOVE the A6... but it too, is getting dated)

The only European sedan that really gets my attention right now is the Jaguar XF... but I would think it cost a lot more... especially the XF-R.

My comparison does NOT include the BMW "M's" and MB "AMG's" cuz they are in a difference class (in terms of price range).

It needs to be lowered badly. Look at all the wheel well gap.

All over the web today.
Infiniti Confirms M35 Hybrid Production

Infiniti today confirmed that its first production hybrid vehicle will be part of the recently announced line of 2011 Infiniti M luxury performance sedans, which are scheduled to go on sale in spring 2010 at Infiniti dealers nationwide. The Infiniti M35 hybrid is expected to arrive about 12 months later as a 2012 model. It is Infiniti's first hybrid in its 20-year existence, as well as the cleanest and most economical car in Infiniti's history.

The M35 Hybrid is based on the all-new M, which itself picks up styling cues from Essence, the show-stopper that made its debut at the Geneva Auto Show early in 2009.
The M35 Hybrid maintains a high performance luxury sedan profile, overlaying it with the fuel economy and CO2 emissions of a smaller car, while delivering driving flair to please any enthusiast - complete with charismatic V6 and rear-wheel drive handling.
Infiniti's hybrid system, developed solely within Infiniti's parent group, is a single electric motor/twin clutch arrangement. Innovatively, the first clutch is installed between the naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 and the electric motor.
The result of this configuration, where all components act on a single prop shaft to the rear differential, is a consistent driving feel under all conditions with linear performance and the "direct responses" that the engineers sought.
The electric motor acts as both propulsion unit, boosting the V6 in "power assist" mode when maximum acceleration is required, and also as a generator.
Along with charging the battery in the normal way, the motor recovers energy otherwise lost during deceleration and braking.
The M Hybrid can also run solely on its electric motor in certain driving conditions, furthering fuel efficiency and optimizing energy usage across the widest possible range of driving conditions. Details of driving range, performance and transmission will be released later.
As expected of Infiniti, several new technologies are introduced in the new M35 Hybrid, including a "laminated" lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery pack that is the same size as conventional batteries but offers twice the power. Lamination enhances the pack's cooling performance, while temperature stability is further improved by the use of manganese positive electrodes. An end result of this is exceptional battery reliability.
The M35 Hybrid joins conventional engine-equipped 2011 M versions - including a new high-performance diesel V6 for Western Europe - as the first Ms to be sold across all of Infiniti's world markets, currently 33 countries. All of the new-generation Infiniti M models are on target to beat their predecessors on fuel consumption and emissions - despite across-the-board performance improvements - thanks to a range of efficiency-enhancing measures.

Infiniti Announces Official EPA Mileage Estimates for All-New 2011
Infiniti M37 and M56 Performance Luxury Sedans

-- New Larger, More Powerful V6 and V8 Engines Produce Improved Fuel
Economy Numbers --
FRANKLIN, Tenn. -

Infiniti today released official Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) fuel
economy estimates for the 2011 Infiniti M performance luxury sedan, showing
increases of up to four miles per gallon versus 2010 M models. The new
generation M's all-new design includes two new powerplants, a 3.7-liter V6
and 5.6-liter V8, each offering more horsepower and torque than the previous
smaller displacement designs.

The 2011 Infiniti M horsepower, torque, fuel economy figures, and increases
compared to the previous generation models, are:
MY 2011...................M37..........M37x.............M56...............M56x
Horsepower (hp).....330 (+27)....330 (+27)......420 (+95)......420 (+95)
Torque.......(lb-ft)...270 (+8)......270 (+8).......417 (+81)......417 (+81)
City MPG................18 (+1).......17 (+1)..........16................16 (+2)
Highway MPG...........26 (+1).......24 (+2).........25 (+4)..........23 (+3)

"The all-new 2011 Infiniti M's powertrains offer both increased power and
efficiency," said Ben Poore, vice president, Infiniti Business Unit. "Our V6
power is up 9% to 330 horsepower, while V8 power is up almost 30% to 420
horsepower and torque is increased 24% to 417 lb-ft -- while amazingly adding
4 mpg Highway for the M56 and 3 mpg Highway for the all-wheel drive M56x."
Multiple advanced technologies allow the new Infiniti M to provide these
increases in power and torque while also improving fuel efficiency across all
model offerings. The 3.7-iter V6 and all-new 5.6-liter V8 engine both utilize
Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control System (CVTCS) to optimize both
intake and exhaust valve timing. Variable Valve Event and Lift (VVEL)
technology is also applied to the intake valves on both the V6 and V8 engines
to improve performance, emissions and fuel efficiency.

In addition, Direct Injection Gasoline? technology is applied to the all-new
5.6-liter V8, providing more precise combustion control to optimize emissions,
applied as the standard transmission on all 2011 M models. As a result of the
improved fuel economy figures, the gas guzzler tax previously accessed on
the 2010 M45x does not apply to the 2011 M56x.

"It's an impressive feat of engineering to not only gain 95 horsepower and 81
ft-lb of torque while also improving fuel efficiency by up to 4 mpg for the new
V8," added Poore. "Most of all, however, we think buyers will be impressed by
the smooth, responsive performance of both the new V6 and V8. Power plus
efficiency -- that's a great definition of Inspired Performance."
The all-new 2011 Infiniti M is scheduled to go on sale at Infiniti retailers
nationwide beginning March 18, 2010.
